Pete told me about that place, and one day Pete took me to the one on the beach at HB near PCH & Beach Blvd. I guess they closed that location, but it was definitely a white privilege kind of made up
Mexican food.
Cheese Burritos
Bun Tacos
Combo Cups
I gotta give props to the Ortega Burger --- white privilege got that right!

Yes, I was telling Ego that back in the day Naugles was the shiznit in SoCal, especially OC
Naugles was the hang out, the after the party eats to absorb the alcohol that was just pounded
I wish them success in re-growing their brand and growing their locations.
And Ego, yes it's definitely American food with a hint of Mexican ...
Bun Tacos were awesome

Definitely had some Naugles back in the day.
If you are in Arcadia, you should try Tacos Lita which has that same vibe.
I think the woman who works the counter must've been there for 30 years.
Hard shell ground beef tacos, loads of iceberg lettuce and cheddar cheese - salsa by the packet.
Kinda like taco the bell back when they had those gas fire-pits burning out front.
damn. nom nom
I'm going there now.

+1 @ Taco Lita @ Arcadia
My go to is the Lita Burger!
(their version of a Bun taco )
Don't forget to ask for their Lita Sauce!
Taco Lita - since 1967

The Location is haunted!

Naugles was awesome back in the 80's.
I used to go to one at the south end of Bristol before it turns east towards JWA. There was a Pep Boys right there.
I think they were open 24 hours. Many visits after clubbing. Hogie Barmichael's
I'm pretty sure Naugles invented the Breakfast Burrito.

^ From the Naugles website :
Now permanently closed. We want to thank the Waterfront Hilton for the opportunity to serve the public at the HB Concession Stand for the last 5 years. We had a wonderful experience with the Huntington Beach community and introducing Naugles to the beach loving tourists. We wish the Hilton all the success as they expand their new and improved Food and Beverage services to the concession stand. Thank you everyone and we look forward to seeing you at our Fountain Valley, Stanton, and (opening soon) Artesia locations.

Naugles, lol
Ate there in the early 70's
Fucking green burrito was pretty good
Funny thing was, there were no Metsicans involved
Even the 2 guys who played Senor Naugles in the ads weren't Metsican
Cultural appropriation by the fucking white devils......again
|
|
saved a lil trip
i'll drive to fountain valley...how far is that from HB?
|
|
combo cups...green chilies
i'd make a run a few times a week

Fountain Valley location is at Ellis and Ward ... Right off of the 405
It's their test kitchen location, and corp offices, so it looks like a light industrial building --- it does face Ellis --- it doesn't look like a traditional fast food place from the outside, but inside it is just like any other fast food joint

I've been to the Fountain Valley location. It's right across the street from the water treatment plant. It's their own and very unique twist on Mexican food, and it all tastes damn good!
