It’s hard to believe that a dispute over documents would yield a criminal indictment. Attorney General Merrick Garland would have to explain to the public why Mr. Trump’s behavior was so much more nefarious than other cases of mishandled classified documents. That includes former national security adviser Sandy Berger, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. And Hillary Clinton, who got off with a sanctimonious lecture from then FBI director James Comey.
Essentially, the DOJ has set a precedence with Berger & Clinton as to how it now handles government documents purloined by prior elected or appointed officials. How would you justify indicting Trump while letting Clinton off the hook with no prosecution at all? HRC quite literally wiped drives, deleted classified emails, destroyed evidence, etc. etc.
DOJ has put themselves in a box by allowing the FBI director Comey call the shots back then........decisions that he had NO power to make. The FBI collects evidence and the DOJ decides to prosecute or not.
Anyhoo, no doubt I'll hear plenty of stupid from the idiot gallery around here but it is what it is.

By the way, Hunter has NOT gotten a pass
They're only in the 14th year of investigating him and all they have are emails, a laptop, pictures, letters, corroborating witnesses, records of money flows, tax returns, etc.
Not nearly enough when dealing with a Biden who's got the DOJ covering for him.

Actually no... no one had a shot at Hillary because the FBI blew it ....through one carefully crafted statement that implicated her of gross negligence and then later did not refer her to DoJ cus in Comeys estimation no prosecutor would take up the case. Well maybe none in the DoJ but several spoke up and said they would have taken up the case if they were at DoJ or if they had jurisdiction.
But alas the public could not get their pound of flesh and you can smugly say something as stupid as that and still demand justice while turning your head away from injustice.

Comey, the Criminal, let her off the hook even though they had her dead to rights
However, how would it look for the FBI to arrest the major party candidate within weeks of a national election? Happens in other countries but not in the good old US of A.
It's almost as if once you get high enough up the ratings, you become immune from prosecution. It would be fantastic if they actually applied the laws equally, arrested both Trump and Biden (plus family members) and locked them all up for the grifters they all are.

Nothing wrong with GBDs thoughts on this ... each would get their Trial, but the way our Justice system works they'd try the non insider first sentence them to death and then in an effort to "unite" the population tell us that they can't repeat such a divisive process.
