Been looking over some of the dons past posts...seems to be the kind of guy that asks pointed questions and not provide his opinion too much....dwell on that a little.
A person that has been middle of the road not in either camp (as far as I can tell) just commented what he did.... how many others feel the same? I would go far as to stay Joe just wrecked his standing amongst independent voters. The party liners are unchanged but the key demographic he did not make any progress with and I would say he damaged himself and his parties chances drastically.
The only way he recovers from this is to start firing people...starting with the morons who wrote that speech. I'd say get rid of Klain as well but .... he is the only reason Joe got this far and the whole agenda would be lost without him. It's a terrible agenda but it's all he's got.

There's NEVER been another president that has given a speech where he alienated 1/2 the country, not even nixon or rayguns.
His job - first and foremost is to unite the country and instead he throws down a gauntlet to half the population.
It was an incredibly STUPID thing to do and his handlers know it, cause now he's trying to walk it back. There's no way to do that now, but a good start would be if he fired everyone who wrote it, advised him to give it or had anything to do with it.
