Based on this comment, it appears as though poster considers himself "extreme left wing" and this is one of his news sources. Makes sense as this source is a fairly obvious mix of some hard news with a larger portion of left biased commentary. Whatever works for you....
As to the socialism/fascism discussion. Marx theorized a transition from capitalism to socialism to communism. He believed all countries should become capitalist and develop that productive capacity, and then workers would naturally revolt, leading to communism whereby the workers would become the dominant social class and collectively control the means of production. Unfortunately for Herr Marx, later theorists became disillusioned with the real world results: First, the Stalinist version became an embarrassment to the cause, even though the New York Times tried to cover it up. Second, people started to notice that capitalism was too successful. The vast majority of workers became middle-class, fat and happy......not very interested in revolution nor transition to sharing the fruits of their labor with layabouts and hobos.
That's the Marxian view, obviously a ridiculously utopian concept and completely unsuccessful in practice. However, consider "socialism" on a sliding scale. It seems important to determine where one lands on the balance between laissez faire capitalism vs. complete state ownership/control.
Or, as is practiced in all Western countries, government regulated capitalism with a large safety net.....not normally labelled as socialism but some may consider it such.
The terms of HX debates, never having been set in stone, leaves ones imagination capable of all manner of extreme personality attribution. The parties herein involved in HX intercourse appear to have little interest in cajolery but considerable desire to crush their enemies souls, if not their lives.
This eternal and never-ending battle between "creators/producers" vs. "redistributionists" will never end. Having witnessed this for nigh 15 years, I can only offer the following suggestion:
Kneecap the bitch then tear his/her head off and shit in their skull.

That's what is happening today because of constant deregulation of every sector - banks and wall street, insurance, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, energy, transportation, tech etcetc.
To have an economy where everyone can participate you have to have leaders that have a moral sense of 'we're all in this together'. That moral sense died with the WWII generation, it's one of the reasons they are/were The Greatest Generation.

Quite the contrary, I think it's pretty clear that things are more regulated now than ever before, and continue to be more regulated as time progresses.
since the 30's the interstate commerce clause has been the justification to unfettered regulation & micromanagement by bureaucrats, most times without any written laws, just the internal authority of the agencies.
Banks & wall street - ever review the regs by FDIC, SEC & about a dozen others? Banks are micromanaged by the type & quality & assets that back loans. I could go on, but please, banks cant make a move without checking if it meets their regs.
Insurance - regulated by the states, and most times, even the applications, policy texts, endorsements, let alone what they are permitted to charge & what they must pay are regulated.
pharma - Why are drugs cheaper in other countries & so expensive here - it's not the greed of the companies - it's to offset regulatory costs.
healthcare - bitch please - one word. Obama care
energy - try to open a new coal fired power plant. Regulations favor "renewables" even thorugh they aren't very cost effective per kwh - over petrochemical - ANY petrochemical.
Transportation - fleet mandated minimal MPG - a gazillion regulations on the transportation industry - and more are put on each year.
Tech (etc) - perhaps the least regulated industry?? but there is a constant push to regulate it more, especially when it becomes critical of the establishment. (
Back to the original post - CNN - far left leaning institution that has become it's own echo chamber, writing puff peices on stuff they like, and being biased and critical on things that they don't.
When there are countless news sources out there where people can choose, CNN can see to survive, they need to adapt .
When biden & his proposed "ministry of truth" to combat the few right of center media outlets, shit hit the fan, I'm sure it left MSNBC & CNN & others a bit surprised, they have been accustomed to writing opinion peices and presented biased results.

Democrats frequently cite abortion as a "constitutional right" since Roe v Wade being struck down by SCOTUS. It's not a "right" cited anywhere in the Constitution. SCOTUS just moved the decision to voted on by the people rather than 9 unelected judges... deal with it.
