I just couldn't resist the play on words. At this point, you have to see some humor in the human predicament. A year ago the word "super-spreader" would have made me cower in fear. But then I thought of the double entendre and now I chuckle every-time I hear it. Many great "super-spreaders" on hx and nothing gets me going like seeing them spread. Back in the day, I spent a great deal of time in strip clubs: Talk about a super-spreading event! Hell, I didn't even have a mask on!
Humans have an extraordinary ability to screw things up. If it weren't so tragic, it would be laughable: "Let's fish deadly viruses out of remote caves (which might never have come into contact with humans), bring them to a huge, crowded city in the most populous country on earth, make them more deadly using sloppy technique, and TA-DA! kill 5.5 million people and sicken hundreds of millions more." So stupid it's almost unbelievable. It's hard for me to think of a bigger human screw- up, other than Eve biting the apple (otherwise, chicks would still be walking around naked). And maybe Adams being conceived. (But that's on a smaller scale.)
