Instead of a new years resolution, I got a good tip from a recent Tim Ferris's podcast.
Basically, he looks back in the past year, month by month and makes 2 lists, one listing all the things you enjoyed and benefited from (uplifting things) and a second list of things that sucked up your time but didnt get much out of. These can be events, hobbies, people.
Rate these from +10...-10. Just focus on the things that you had strong positive feelings, either high +8 +9 or +10 or very negative feelings -8, -9 or -10.
Next, take the things that were high + and start filling your 2022 with those things and avoid doing high - things. Basically, you want to take control of your schedule and fill it with things that are high positives for you that makes you happy.
As the saying goes, if you don't fill your calendar with things you want to do, others will fill it for you and you lose control of your life.
I wish I did a better job documenting that I did in 2021, but will definitely try this exercise to pick out what things makes me happy and do more of those.
