A relative who is a doctor (but who is not an epidemiologist) told me that he thinks the Omicron variant may be the beginning of the end of the pandemic. Omicron is insanely contagious, yet causes relatively weak illness, which may eventually result in herd immunity.
The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic started to burn itself out around the 2 year mark with the introduction of a weak variant and we are now approaching the 2 year mark now with Covid.
The problem is that there is more than Omicron out there (including Delta). Vaccinations plus the booster will protect people from serious illness from Omicron and all other current variants, but the unvaccinated are still at greater risk of suffering from severe illness and long Covid if they catch it.
You're likely going to catch Omicron in the near future; it is almost inevitable. But I wouldn't actively attempt to catch it now because you may still catch Delta which can result in serious illness.

are over 65. Most who are not even in the workforce.
The younger you are the less likely you are to die of covid-19
Over all, you have over a 99.5% of surviving covid-19
This idea by the government that they control the spread of covid-19 has
proven to be foolish and has failed. This has been about control, not health and safety.
Masks, vaccines, and social distancing have failed to prevent the spread
of the virus.
Most people who have gotten covid-19 have not been hospitalized.
And what about the people who survived covid, like myself?
Aren't we supposed to have natural immunity as claimed by many epidemiologists?
Why don't they test people who had covid for natural immunity, instead of just
demanding people get the vaccine or take a test?

Sure a relatively small percentage of Americans die from Covid; around 1,200 per day now. And 90,000 Americans are hospitalized right now because of Covid. Are those numbers not enough to care to do something, to be careful not to infect your fellow Americans who may be more vulnerable than you?

Let's be honest: it is impossible to one reason with an idiot like you who has no moral or ethical compass. So, bonehead, how are the suggested policies of the Great Barrington Declaration going to work if Omicron is incredibly contagious? I know two people who are immunocompromised that got infected with Covid in the last week. Both were in Orange County, the center of anti-Covid stupidity, but at least both were vaccinated and boosted so hopefully their illnesses won't be life threatening.
You're also discounting that a lot of people who are seemingly healthy and not in risk groups can die of Covid or have long Covid.
Here's an example:
Orange County Deputy DA Kelly Ernby — an active member of the local GOP who spoke out against COVID vaccination mandates — has died of Covid. She was 46. See the linked article.
Let's face it: many of you are just too dumb to understand the risks. At least those who are vaccinated and boosted will likely feel minimal effects of being exposed to Covid, but good luck to the rest of you morons.
Lastly, one of the most vocal critics of wearing masks and getting vaccinated in these blogs contacted me for advice. He caught Covid earlier this year and is still suffering from post-Covid side effects. Getting vaccinated and taking precautions would have likely saved him from the grief he's suffering from now.
