There's this thing called the "Constitution" which clearly puts the responsibilities on each State to conduct elections and certify electors for a Presidential election.
Any notion of a "Federal Intervention" in all election related activities is a clear breach of Constitutional Law.
I dont know how you Liberals can get so led astray as to thinking there needs to be Federal oversight for elections.
Voter ID isnt racist and if people can line up for a COVID test they can vote in person.

Also they thought antifa would show up and fight with the rioters prompting the national Guard to come in and allowing Trump almost emergency powers, including stopping the count with Spence assent. .

Why do Trump apologists keep saying the insurrectionists didn’t have any guns? I just read about a couple of them who had guns last week. I also think most people know pipe bombs were planted during the insurrection.
If memory serves, some of the insurrectionists, had weapons cached near the capitol. Another dude got caught with firearms in his nearby vehicle.
Were the guns IN the Capitol Building being brandished or used? Just having a legal firearm in your vehicle does not constitute using it. To my knowledge, NONE of the people who were in the Capitol have been charged with gun possession or use of a firearm. But for arguments sake, let's assume 2 people with guns as you point out.....that is NOT an insurrection. Two dudes with guns and a bunch of others with flags and banners....YEP that is one hell of an insurrection.

So theres the overriding fact that several months ago.. back in Summer, the FBI concluded that there was no evidence whatsoever of any coordinated "coup" or otherwise by Trump or any other Right wing group on Jan 6th.
The problem is that Pelosi and the media keep whipping up hysteria that there was a coordinated "attack on Democracy" which is funny because theres not much of anything Democrats do these days that has anything to do with Democracy.
It's just like how Adam Schiff held "investigations" into Russia Collusion and keep talking about evidence "in plain site" but the numerous people who testified under oath they had *no*knowledge*of*Collusion* kept telling the media Collusion happened.

No spammer....I was making the distinction since you brought up the two people who you said had guns. I was pointing out that the one person had the guns in their vehicle and NOT on their person...so pretty damn hard to use the gun if you don't have it in your possession.
The second alleged gun toter was supposedly seen on the Capitol grounds but NOT in the Capitol and NOT part of the group that entered the building.
There are still NONE of the perpetrators who have been arrested on any gun charges. If someone had a gun I can assure you the loonies in DC would have already tried, convicted and executed the person. The guns were in the possession of the Capitol police and one did shoot and kill an unarmed woman.

Of course, the commission is NOT bringing up and asking questions why, when Trump two days prior authorized the National Guard to be at the Capitol, why it was refused.
If the guy was starting an insurrection, I doubt he would want more people protecting the Capitol. Nancy decided no....so if the National Guard had actually been in place, NONE of this would have happened and the Dems would have NOTHING to discuss today..... other than the rising inflation, open border, Americans still trapped in a foreign country, and Covid that was supposed to be fixed by Joe.

The preponderance of convictions (actually most have pled guilty) are misdemeanors (such as parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building).
How many resources were spent on the over 500 riots in the entire summer of 2020????
