I bet we won't be able to get a "Smart Gun" In California.
PS sherkahn=communist

Looks smarter than Alec Baldwin
So there's that
|
|
“ The fingerprint reader unlocks the gun in microseconds, but since it may not work when wet or in other adverse conditions, the PIN pad is there as a backup. LodeStar did not demonstrate the near-field communication signal, but it would act as a secondary backup, enabling the gun as quickly as users can open the app on their phones.”
Hold on, Mr. Aggressor. Let me unlock my gun. Damn! My hands are sweaty wet and I can’t remember my PIN due to the life & death stress situation. Let me try the app. Have you seen my phone?

Even if the firm can move past a questionable prototype, from what I read, in California, you would not be able to buy one.
I didn't see a LCI
does it have a magazine disconnect?
Microstamping?
Unlikely it will make the roster.
Ironic, a "smart gun" isn't safe.

This has fail written all over it

As much as I am for gun control, I would not trust this technology. Much like auto driving software.
I am sure these 2 technologies will become flawless well after I have shuffle off this mortal coil.

The tech was meant originally for law enforcement so that the bad guys couldn't steal your firearm and kill you with it (a real problem). I believe it was met with not much excitement at the time.
Even if it magically got on the ok list for this state I see it having...all the success of any other gimmick gun.

A smart gun, hmmmmm, an oxymoron perhaps? If you have a smart gun and I have a regular gun is mine now a "dumb gun" or a "not so smart gun" or just a "f'n gun"?
|
|
So if you are in a fight and get blood/dirt/sweat or have to use a different finger you are fucked. This is so stupid
|
|
Stupid how?
You are not being forced to buy one, or trade in your existing weapon for a smart gun.
It’s just an option.

Fingerprint technology as good as the tech on my phone which I have scan a new print every few months .... uhhhh no.
