Bill Maher, was asymptomatic. He got off lucky. I'm sure if he DID get COVID-19 AND ventilated for a month he'd never take off his N95 ever again. Instead he was fully vaxxed, dosent get sick then complains about being overly safe. Overly safe prevented him from getting seriously sick and spreading COVID to other people. Last year, hospitals were packed with COVID-19 patients. Thousands dying every day. We saw SOME people who appeared to be in great health drop dead from COVID-19. Now, we have hard data on the efficacy of the vaccines, and we know who is most vulnerable to COVID-19.
Bill Maher is throwing a tantrum because he couldnt get his ego fed during the pandemic. Bill could have never said shit about being overly protective last year. He would have looked as stupid as anti-vaxxers or COVID-19 deniers. Now, he can stand up to everything related to COVID and be a tough guy while being applauded by his ass kissing audience. Ego fed.

Maher is just part of a growing group of people who are asking when do we stop living like cowards and just say 'fuck this, I'm living my life'.
Who gets to set the threshold of acceptable risk.
Some people will say as long as there's a covid variant the Man gets to tell you what to do. What if covid is around forever? (The common cold is a coronavirus.)
Some people want to decide for themselves.
At some point maybe you say it's every man for himself. Every individual manages his own risk and let it play out.
Who knows.... the measures we're taking may be prolonging this thing. It may be interfering in the way nature would normally handle such a virus within a given population.
BTW I've had covid. Rapid tests showed negative but pcr identified it. I'm triple jabbed and followed all recommendations about masks and distancing, etc. Unclear if I got Omicron or? For me it was like a bad cold for about 10 days. Stuffy head for 5 more days. My kids were each sick for a day and a half with headaches.

Carlson is a pundit Mahar is not ...and if I had a nickel every time a left leaning co-worker asked If I saw Mahar over the weekend I'd be able to retire. I watch him occasionally... don't find his show worthy of much my time but it has its moments.

I watch Maher 3 or 4 times a month.
The guy routinely drops several Orange Man bad comments throughout his show.
He knows who his audience is or at least who he wants his audience to be.
But at the same time this guy can see how CNN & MSNBC have had ratings plummet by blindly spouting the Left's Woke narratives and he seems to be controlling a sensible path through times where a section of "his party" is off in the weeds

You guys probably don’t like it when CRT people (for lack of a better term) describe anything in terms of race. Things like even mathematics. It is annoying.
Then maybe you can appreciate how annoying it is to dissect everything in terms of politics (e.g if you think lockdowns helped, you must be a progressive etc.).
It’s equally as annoying.
Not saying politics and race aren’t important. But there are other ways to look at the same information. It might be more constructive if people did that with respect to COVID.
