I am vaccinated and boosted. Recently had COVID myself.
The symptoms were mild. Cough was the worse of it all but managed with DM cough medicine.
As discussed heavily on here, vaccine cant prevent you from getting COVID from the new strain. But will prevent you from getting real sick where you are taken to hospital.
That is the key point. Hope you do well.
In early 2021 before vaccine was available, I endured 3 months of anxiety and fear with dad in hospital with COVID. The man almost died. Thank god he made it out alive. He said it was the worse thing that he ever got through.
Thank the lucky stars you dont have to be stuck in a hospital on a respirator for 3 months alone.

Anecdotal. Depending on how recently someone got vaccinated, and boosted, vs how long ago the unvaccinated caught the disease would control your level of antibody and risk at catching the disease. If they got their last booster 8 months ago, and the three of you caught covid sometime in the last 4 months, your natural immunity would be higher. This completely ignores that your risk of hospitalization and death was much higher when you gained your coveted natural immunity. Catching the disease to have a level of immunity to the disease is a bit backwards don't you think? Also, the vaccines were created before Omicron and Delta, and all the other variants with mutations. It has already been shown that the vaccine does not do very well in protecting you against Omicron...but what it does do is keep you from ending up in the hospital much better than without it.
If your same group of friends goes out two months from now, the other three people would be most likely to catch it. Do we then praise vaccines at that point because the two vaccinated now 10 months ago didnt catch it?
The real evidence is the percentage of patients in the hospital and the percentage of patients dying of vaxxed vs un-vaxxed. That debate seems settled unless you get your science from youtube.
But the real issue is, getting everyone vaxxed....or recently infected, ...so we can achieve herd immunity and get back to quasi-normal and stop creating variants as a perpetually infected society.

People are DONE playing Pandemic.
I have a hard time taking this administration serious on COVID prevention measures when they have essentially opened up the southern border and act like there is nothing that can be done to stem the flow of illegal immigrants that they keep relocating to points inside the US.

I was religiously wearing my mask until recently. While out and about I've noticed that most people aren't wearing masks as much anymore.
