Not going to bother reading anything you wrote. I don't give a shit about your opinion.

^ @ idiot Corndog
It's not my opinion, moron
Allah forbid you actually learn something about the government you blindly follow
Great insight as to why your posts are all meaningless emotional blather
The main point is that both parties play the same games
And, I know you did read it
But didn't understand it.

|
Just don't play ball.? Don't fill the seat.?

The SCOTUS has become a new warfare between the two parties, with a lot of bad blood and resentment over the years. For every political move one side makes, the other promises to return the favor in kind. And Mitch McConnel has played rough during Obama’s terms, so Joe will most likely “kneecap” Mitch in some way before things get started. And Biden’s picks will have to be impecable.
|
|
so he will kneecap mitch and STILL have to have an impeccable pick?
you be forgetting he only needs one pub senator to get it thru
maine?
alaska?
utah?
he will get one or could even be 25
not sure the gesture would change things down the line...for the next pub nomination in '25

The Democrats play hardball cutthroat 24/7/365.
Republicans? They only get tough during nomination time. Yet Roberts is a complete moderate, Kavanaugh has proven to be to the centrist side, and ACB about the same.
Yet Republicans have gone along to get along, approving leftists like Sotomayor and Kagan. It's not all bad for the Dems. They actually fare quite well.
|
|
I can't see Republicans doing anything else but stop bidens pick at all costs. Which happens to be the first black woman nominated. The Republicans will wear this for a long time. From what I hear Republicans have already decided the exclusion of old white guys means the best "person" for the job was passed over for an inferior woman who is black.
|
|
The thing that will be worn for a long time is Democrats voting to get rid of the filibuster to move on their Federalized Voter Fraud bill.
I'm sure there are plenty of good black female candidates but but Joe hasnt made a pick yet.
All he has done is put the "affirmative action" label on the pick.
He would much better by shutting his mouth and making a pick based on character and not making it a race thing.
|
|
Joe needed to feed the his base. He can't afford to have them wander off. All the heat he's been taking. He called for some back up and they've responded. It's not great joe played this card so early before the midterms. It looks desperate.

Morons the lot of you saying that Bidens pick will somehow not have a vote and Mitch will get kneecapped by Joe.
You have absolutely no idea how all of this works do you? DO YOU!!!?
Joe nominates ... the nominee gets a round of hearings ... who is the ranking member for the pubs on the Judiciary?!! ... don't know... look it up... I'll just say he would be acting out of character if he was not the one Republican vote needed ... Lindsey Graham though partisan a lot of times has acted against party interest a whole fricken lot so don't be surprised that the drama you are hoping for is all for naught. He is only controversial wh3n he isn't holding all the cards. They will get a quorum there will be a vote and Bidens nominee no matter who it is will get confirmed with the support of at least one Republican ...more bitpartisan a vote than most Republican SC nominees have received ... save your pearl clutching for something that may warrant it.
|
|
correction to the above
He is only controversial when he is holding all the cards... he has jo cards now and the nominee will coast through.
That's my expectation.

Original post was just to point out how the Senate works and how both parties make use of the parlimentary system to stymie each other. The Dems tried unsuccessfully with ACB, the Reps could try the same.
BUT, I agree with Wun, these odds are low. Given that the nominee makes no impact on the court balance, I also expect the Reps to mostly approve and eliminate the issue from the election.
As Biden did with Trump, best to play rope-a-dope in the basement and let Biden continue to bury himself, as Trump did. Make no mistake, unless Mars Attacks...........Joe has fucked the Dems in November. 26 Dem House members are not running again compared to half that for the Reps.
It's a Mongolian Clusterfuck, no offense to the Mongolians
|
|
"Given that the nominee makes no impact on the court balance, I also expect the Reps to mostly approve and eliminate the issue from the election."
Bingo!!
And there will be no nationwide search for a person who has somehow been traumatized by the nominee 30 40 or 50 years ago. The other side however pulls out all stops to find anyone willing to wreck not only the career of stellar career jurists but also their own.

"The SCOTUS has become a new warfare between the two parties, with a lot of bad blood and resentment over the years."
Because Congress is CHICKENSHIT and won't do their job. If they did, then SCOTUS wouldn't have to create this shit out of thin air. Whether right or wrong, I'm OK with a woman making the abortion decision up to a certain point in the pregnancy. But, it should be a law debated and passed by Congress, then signed by a Pres, not a ruling passed by 9 unelected jurists.
Now comes college entrance qualification racism and the same applies. Asians been getting fucked on that deal, hopefully SCOTUS dumps the whole thing altogether and merit wins out................. mainly cause I self-identify as a pregnant lesbian trans asian about to apply to college.

No matter the party that gets to pick it will be a person that is approved by the Chamber of Commerce and the corporate lobbyist groups. The only difference is the culture war stuff. Either way the common citizen will get the shaft when it comes to justice for workers rights, consumer protections, state overreach, freedoms that affect profits, drug reform, etc.

The political atmosphere will not permit our system of government to function you blind mother fuckers. We can't fucking agree on paper or plastic. Someone, somewhere there are people laughing their asses off and toasting eachother with vodka. Just my opinion.
|
|
^ your absolutely right.
The ones laughing their ass off are G. Soros, and media titans who use racism to destabilize and divide this country, promote defunding of police, get fools to burn and loot businesses in the name of Social Justice.
|
|
And all then the sadistic bastard funds the election of DA's, Prosecutors, and judges who release criminals back to the streets
Dont get me started on COVID
|
|
^ how did you become irrelevant so quickly, sbs?
That's quite a talent there.

Tulsi Gabbard tweeted this yesterday...
"Biden chose Harris as his VP because of the color of her skin and sex—not qualification. She’s been a disaster,” Gabbard wrote. “Now he promises to choose Supreme Court nominee on the same criteria. Identity politics is destroying our country."
|
|
Except she will be vetted by both sides of Congress and will need to have impeccable credentials and support in order just to qualify.
You forgot that part.
Oh, that’s right. The former administration had no idea what “qualified” individuals meant.
The DUH is strong with you.
|
|
^ Go tell Tulsi Gabbard that.
What you have to take into account is that Biden had already made very questionable headscratching appointments which have since been withdrawn.
David Chipman was chosen for heading the ATF and is known to be a advocate for abolishing the 2nd Amendment and collecting everyones guns. He was withdrawn.
Then there was Saule Omarova for the banking watchdog who was born in Russia and has a Communist upbringing. A 2020 article written by Omarova that suggests the need for a government-controlled “people’s ledger” that would “end banking as we know it” has caused further friction over her nomination, with some reports suggesting that moderate Democrats may oppose her appointment.
She eventually recovered herself.
Right now we are dealing with the the appointment of Lisa Cook to the Federal Reserve. Here appointment is proving to be controversial for reasons related to her writings. Let me summarize that as she is not moderate but exceptionally Woke.
Why cant Biden just pick moderate appointments.
He fucks up everything he touches.
|
|
Omarova removed herself
|
|
Also Whoopi Goldberg is off the short list of SCOTUS appointments after trying to argue Monday on the View that... get this...
The Holocaust had nothing to do with racism.
All those bitches need to join Rachel Maddow and go off the air for awhile so they can reflect on the vile nonsense they spew.
|
|
jackrabbit33 - you sound like you watch Faux news all day and then regurgitate their bullshit here.
|
|
No actually I work all day.
Tulsi Gabbard made that exact tweet so it's not bullshit...
This is what a real Democrat thinks of Joe Biden.
didnt get it from News
