people trying to flee to poland is stopped at border and the men are not allowed to leave.

I think Putin is going to have some serious problems with his troops
trying to control the Ukrainian population.
Do I think the sanctions will work? Not much.
Putin has probably figured that there would be sanctions
and figured out ways around them.

I was drafted in ‘68. Like many, I lost my student deferment right after the TET OFFENSIVE.
If I had the wherewithal, I would had gotten a doctors letter, and a medical deferment. There were, many doctors who would sign you off as having asthma, or bad knees (ask OJ).
I don’t blame any guy who dodged the daft, in that war.
But, I do get pissed when I hear some jack ass say “ it took more courage to flee to Canada, than to fight in Vietnam.”
Personally, I am proud of my service, but I’m not proud of our country’s involvement.

Yes, 150,000 troops cannot 'hold' a country the size of Texas and population the size of California and whose citizens are armed and willing to fight. Putin was hoping the Ukrainians would 'give up', but that hasn't happened. If the Ukrainians get enough Stinger missiles and Javelin anti-tank missiles, they might be able to hold Putin's army off indefinitely.
