The Surgical masks were made for BACTERIA not a virus. A virus is 10 times smaller than bacterial.

N95..KN95.....well they can be worn ONLY once. And once you touch them they are contaminated. They only work about 30-60% from studys I have read. Not good.

If either one of the above work.....then why don't people who work in labs studying them wear them.

As a result, it seems that any effect masks have on preventing the spread of the disease in the community is small.
