The amount of time to pass for a mass of enzymes to go through permutations and form a single cell life organism has not even been passed yet.... and some people think that evolution is a certainty .... personally I don't know ... and no other living person does either.

Walker the football player?
Probably got him some CTE.
Warnock is just a foo that'll be looking for a new job in November
Judging by the blogs, OP got himself some CTE also
|
|
And yet, people voted for Brain dead biden..
Go figure, given the choice, between the two, I'd vote for Walker.
|
|
Warnock is just a Progressive tool set in play with money from Soros. Same with that other GA Senator Ossoff who is really a San Francisco hippie/commie.
I think with GA voter law changes for ID, restricted mail in voting, and combined public condemnation of Progressive policies this might not be as close as poles say.
If you want the definition of Congressional Bat shit crazy look no further than Maxine Waters.

Today in stupid indeed. This is too easy.
@1inchdickanddun
You do not seem to know what either enzymes or evolution are. 97% of employed scientists accept evolution as the dominant theory of biological diversity. An enzyme is a biological catalyst. It does not form cells and their importance to evolutionary theory is well established.
@goebbels
If your language skills were a dick you would have the deepest vagina in human history.
@fredward
You put into words better than I ever could why 5th columnist republicans must be put down by any means necessary. All of you will vote for incompetence over experience in any election. For democracy to survive all of you must be extinguished. Down to the last babe in arms.
@jackoff
You are a blatant anti Semite and racist. Nuff said.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Hey1.... got news for ya .... notice I said I'm not certain.... 97 percent of scientists do what? Bullshit ... and they aren't certain either so go fuck yourself. You'll only be certain when your dead.
|
|
Ohh and go fuck yourself.
|
|
The sad part is that to the average Republican, this is considered a legitimate argument. They don't even know why it's stupid.
|
|
Not saying Walker is a brain surgeon...
But Biden and Harris say far more stupid shit on a weekly basis that we come to accept as norm. Those two are a joke on the world stage.
Remember this?...
So, Ukraine is a country in Europe," Harris explains while speaking slowly. “It exists next to another country called Russia,” she continued. “Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong, and it goes against everything that we stand for.
Should we start weekly blogs to track that shit for you?

He's just aping (see what I did there?) something equally stupid said a few years back by conservative pundit and all around hypocrite Rush Limbaugh.
Stupidity is contagious. The real challenge when dealing with dummies is that they lack the perspective to see their own stupidity, so logical arguments, reason and evidence based reasoning don't work on them.
|
|
The crazy right was able to get into congress through the house now they are on the verge of entering the senate. Sad times.
Remember we almost got a pedophile senator in the senate via Alabama. He probably wins by running again next election.

Evolution is kind of like gravity. It doesn’t matter whether you “believe in it” or not. But anyone who doesn’t “believe” in evolution should probably avoid antibiotics and a host of other medical advances, because they are all rooted in evolutionary biology.

@ Marble_Arch
You’ve identified the problem with most of the vocal conservatives who post in these blogs. In real life, you’d just walk right past these people while attempting to avoid eye contact.
|
|
I'm sure they look as intellectually limited IRL as they prove themselves to be in these blogs. I tend not to comment on public blogs because they appear to have been taken over by the mentally challenged.

Harpooner ... yeah not quite right.... but I know... Im a science denier by believing in math.
|
|
".... the world will end in 12 years"
You mean 7 .. its been 5 since that assertion was made.
|
|
That doesn't mean you just come up with your own wacky solution. It means that you choose to trust the evidence based arguments made by people who are far more educated than you on a particular subject.
Are you an evolutionary biologist perchance? If not, what makes you think you might have a better shot at getting things right than they do.
|
|
The point is everyone has beliefs that might defy logic reason and even *gasp* science. You Pissants only point it out 1) when it's stone not on your team or 2) when you think you are smarter .... but yeah fuck all of ya ... and twice on sunday.
|
|
The whole idea that you're beliefs are some substitute for evidence based reasoning is just patently idiotic.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' --Isaac Asimov
The problem with today’s world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion AND have others listen to it.
The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense! --Brian Cox

Mr. Arch
I'm just a guy with my own ideas not trying to propagate them to the world but for the most part keeping them to myself. It makes no difference what my background is nothing I have said is controversial its generally known information. But I'll be damned if I'm just going to say this guy has a PhD so I'll go with his opinion ... when other PhD's have a different one.
And a couple numbskulls repeating what they overheard some really ge whiz smart guy said is not going to convince me. So you can all just go about your life knowing at least one guy disagrees with ya . But that's ok 99.9 percent of people on humaniplex think talking about this sit accomplishes nothing.
|
|
But you do sound reasoned and educated not like those rubes who are your political opposites.... oi vey!!!
|
|
I should say the people you quote seem reasoned ... you on the other hand didn't really formulate anything you just said......
YEAH

Can’t take Gloomer seriously when he supports someone who gets lost on a constant basis, calls his subordinate his boss regularly, and confuses his wife for his sister. Yet Herschel Walker is stupid for not believing in evolution.
Ok bro. 😂😂😂
|
|
Yup.
Pretty much explains it right there.
There is making mistakes, and then there is being bold and boastful claims that have been easily disproven with research and fact that.

So The Lesson Learned Here Today Is That Politics Attracts Stupid, Underachieving, Narcissistic, and Self-Absorbed People. Anyone with half a brain isn't involved with politics.
OK. Next Topic.

Saying stupid shit! I remember Trump saying that windmills caused cancer, to drink bleach to get rid of COVID19, that Mexico was going to pay for his Big Beautiful Wall and 7 million idiots believed him, and that he had the highest IQ of all the Presidents! Oh yeah and the most idiotic shit he said was that he knew more than the Generals: A DRAFT DODGER with fake bone spurs! Now that is some STUPID shit to say!

Evolution has been proven.
The universe is expanding, planets are at different distances than they used to be. So the gravitational pull has changed and physics explains it all. Almost.
People that believe in astrology have some upsetting news. The planets have expanded away from each other enough that the alignment of the stars the way they were when all this was measured and recorded and which sign you were born under the astrological calendar is responsible for your personality traits etc. Alas, the configuration is different and you are probably not born under the sign you think you are.
Does the planetary alignments have an effect on who you are and how you react?
Of course it does. The effects of gravity are different at different days of the year. Look no further than the tides and the moon and you'll see you can drown from their effects. It's the people aren't born on a certain day the same as before so you may be an Aries and not a Taurus.
Who's to say evolution isn't the way God planned it to happen or it could be all just plain physics.
My point is the more we learn about the physical universe the more we learn how much we don't know and that the only certainty is that nothing is.

"My point is the more we learn about the physical universe the more we learn how much we don't know and that the only certainty is that nothing is."
Didn't get a chance to read your post before I dropped mine.
Don't know about any of that astrology stuff, but I agree with the above quote.
Evolution is far likelier to be true than dinos and humans playing together just 6,000 years ago
But just cause 97% of scientists believe it, that's not what might make it the likelier answer.
100 years ago, 100% of scientists didn't believe in continental drift
40 years ago, 100% of medical doctors didn't believe that ulcers were caused by H. Pylori
Right now, 100% of Progs believe we're all gonna die from climate change within 10 years
Its incredible how certain you are in the face of clear uncertainty, it's not rational.
Both left and right have their own peculiar "irrationalities".
The rest of us have to deal with them, unfortunately.

Heartfelt thanks for repeating what I already posted
Oh Corndog, so sad.
You hiding behind the door when Allah was handing out brains?

The basic ideas underlying change in species -- mutation, genetic drift, natural selection (including asexual vs. sexual), & genetic recombination -- are, in fact, accepted as law by every single biologist I've encountered, and I've encountered many good ones. Unlike for Lamarck's theory of inheritance, the vast amount of evidence out there has never disproven these ideas, only modified them as our understanding in population genetics & genomics has grown.
(Interestingly, Lamarck has made a little bit of a comeback as acquired traits passed onto the next generation do occur in epigenetic inheritance).
If you can show in a particular species that adaptation doesn't occur through selective sweeps but from standing variation, you probably got yourself a hot paper among evolutionary biologists.
You can believe whatever you want to believe.
|
|
Damn. My whole thesis was based on evolution. Every single bit of it.
I guess some of you would call it "fiction."
|
|
I bet there's at least a 0.5 correlation between not believing in evolution and not believing that the consequences of man-made climate change are likely to be devastating.
And a >0.5 correlation between not believing in evolution and not believing that you can be infected and be completely fine but pass on that infection to someone else and kill them.
And a >0.5 correlation between not believing that the consequences of man-made climate change are likely to be devastating & not believing that you can be infected and be completely fine but pass on that infection to someone else and kill them.

*but still can pass..

I guess then it's all god's plan.

I will say one thing. This has nothing to do with intelligence. Very smart people can be very wrong.
|

It’s about what people believe. Period.

Q: If amphibious creatures and eventually reptiles came from fish why are there still fish?
A: Because the ocean is big and fish can still flourish there.
|
|
I don't chime in often, but...
"But just cause 97% of scientists believe it, that's not what might make it the likelier answer."
Good spoken.
"100 years ago, 100% of scientists didn't believe in continental drift
40 years ago, 100% of medical doctors didn't believe that ulcers were caused by H. Pylori
Right now, 100% of Progs believe we're all gonna die from climate change within 10 years."
Completely false.
