Today in stupid: why are there still apes? Part 2

"100 years ago, 100% of scientists didn't believe in continental drift
40 years ago, 100% of medical doctors didn't believe that ulcers were caused by H. Pylori
Right now, 100% of Progs believe we're all gonna die from climate change within 10 years."

"Completely false."

Diverdown3, which part is false? Please elaborate.
The scientific community was flabbergasted when continental drift was posited and proved
It took one lone doctor almost 20 years to convince the medical community about H Pylori
So, it must be the last one.
Maybe it's only 97% of Progs believe that "existential threat" bullshit.
Meanwhile everybody outside the 1st world would just like a fridge and an A/C...........powered by what? Renewables?
That's garbage and if you believed in science you'd know it

Lastly, the economics community has been trying to tell you idiots that to lower the temp by 1.5 degrees will cost trillions more than you think. Where's your science there? Any reasonably minded sane person can see that there are other solutions than to 100% all in to this "green agenda", it's garbage science.

Anyway, please tell us what part is completely false. BTW, I'm a believer in Darwin all the way......many of you need to be on his list.

^ Explain your thinking about where we will get all of the minerals for the thousands and thousands (actually millions) of batteries that will be needed to make solar and wind actually functional.

Hey Spammer. Nobody says batteries cant do what you cite.

What your ignoring is the following...

As stated batteries require specific earth minerals which require open mining which in and of itself takes energy to get. You cant just waive a wand and get a few metric tons of refined Lithium for batteries. No doubt other nasty chemicals involved.

Batteries have a finite life and need to be either discarded or partially recycled. Do we care about that environmental impact?

This will eventually either be solved and made economical by the private sector or other energy sources developed.

The last and catastrophically stupid thing we can do is beleive our Govt when they have a pipedream, no concrete solution, but say "we need to print shitloads of money to make it happen".

What could go wrong?

That money will be wasted and abused and the American taxpayers will be screwed.

The NCAA trans swimmer Lia Thomas won the 500 yard race. Won by almost 2 seconds, which is swimming is huge. Can't wait until every race is won by a trans.

"Explain your thinking on why refrigerators and air conditioning can’t be powered by solar or wind combined with battery storage."

I could be very wrong but I don't think you're as stupid as your posts indicate, sbs.
Apparently, you think you're cute making some kinda meaningless post, then a second, then a third.....all in the same vein. Gosh gee willikers, we can do this or have you thought about that?

Couple of posters already pointed out how dumb your comment is. Just think thru the process and the supply chain of what you're suggesting. Hundreds of millions of fridges and a/c's and other electronic equipment that we take for granted are desired by billions of people. That requires x amount of power which if supplied by "renewables" would require millions of tons of raw materials be mined and manufactured, then covering hundreds if not thousands of sq mi. of land which Progs will bitch about and hold up in years of enviro-court battles. Then you have to dispose or hopefully recycle some of it but seriously, you simple fuck.......

You make it sound like all we have to do is just wave a wand and sing Kumbaya, it'll all work out. Renewables (in CA, water generated electricity is NOT considered renewable, go figure that one out) are less efficient than existing carbon/nuclear generated power which means money spent on them is NOT spent on other worthy and needed investments.........in other words, it's a waste of resources.

Opportunity cost, the trade off from taking one action over another. It has been calculated that taking the path of attempting to ameliorate a "supposed" 1.5 degree increase in global temp in this century will cost trillions of dollars more than current estimates by the eco-nuts. 1.5 degrees of a make believe computer simulation that cannot even take into account what's happened in the last 20 or 30 years. In other words, the simulations are shit. Yet, you'd commit us to doing MORE ecological damage to the planet by trying to solve a problem that we're not even sure might happen.

Oh yeah, and there are a number of tech solutions in the works now that might solve the "possible" warming issue, some of which may cost hundreds of millions, not trillions.

The only true renewable that can provide the power the world will require is nuclear. Why the Chinese continue to open 1 new coal fired power plant every week is beyond me but that's what's happening while ankle biters post stupid shit.

All in all, you're utopian wishful thinking cutsie little comments are pretty much garbage. I suspect your parents paid your way thru school, they should sue to get their money back.

Those so called simulations showing we will surpass 1.5 C temperature rise have all the validity of the estimates saying "millions would die of COVID" early in the Pandemic.

This is just data models formed to support an expensive agenda.

Why does Obumma own a waterfront home if hes worried about rising sea levels?...
