they definitely caught some heat from that last rainfall where most of it flushes thru the system and into the ocean

a lot of it we don't quite understand from a quick snapshot...but the money was PASSED a while back and need to see some improvements happening

same shit happens each year...this article from 2019--

Not only is our state government inept, so is the Metropolitan Water District of So Cal !

At a minimum, every drop that enters the San Diego and San Juan Creeks in OC, Santa River Trail, San Gabriel River, LA River, and many more should be captured and utilized !

We need massive investment in reservoirs and dams !

Here's a picture (link) of the Santa Ana River trail at Brookhurst & Hamilton, and I've seen the water level at full capacity and it just runs out to the Pacific.

Here is a CRAZY idea....which will help reduce the use of what water we do have.

How about sending ALL of the illegals back to where they came from!!

Ohhh and how the freeways would be less congested as well....not to mention schools....hospitals.....etc.

If we don't do something --- and this year especially --- to capture, store and later use this water that we've been blessed with, then we deserve the trophy for the " Society of Biggest Idiots " ...

Look at the picture and all of the channels that just lead that water right to the Pacific Ocean ...

It --- Accountability --- absolutely falls on the desk of Gavin, and Gavin needs to grow a set of balls and tell the folks in the water business to get it done or they will be replaced with people who can get it done

Right on Asian J

Mismanagement of the public needs at the highest levels ...

I've lost a lot of good employees over the last decade to the high cost of general needs :

Gas prices

Natural Gas

Water

Electricity

Housing

Food

Etc...

I travel a lot to Texas on business, and while it doesn't appeal to me to live there, a lot of younger folks who see the light are saying cie la vie - au revoir California ...

The problem is California voters
They passed a $8 B water storage bond in 2014

How many resivours do you think we have built?

Right none

So next year voters will be asked to pass yet another water storage bond

And yes the brain dead

Will check the yes box again

This state is doomed

Stupid voters ...?

LA has just been forced to clean a full 1.2 million ineligible voters from the roles resulting from a legal suite by Judicial Watch.

Hopefully this gives the powers that be less wiggle room with ballot harvesting shenanigans in the next election.

In other countries the blatant misuse of tax payer money for pet projects which enrich political donors would be called corruption.

Here we just call it environmental studies, for decades and decades before anything can be approved let along finished.

Hey EdmondDontes why don’t we BLOW 🔥 up 💥🔥 Huntington Beach. The growth in sambar Dino county, or the inland empire, contributes more to the economic well-being of the state then your general area does. I do agree with this blog, though that we need to do a better job of saving all this water.

About 6 or 7 years ago the state & local governments worked with 3 profs from UC Davis - my alma mater BTW , where they diverted the rain runoff to the surrounding almond groves & farms in the area. IIRC the test area covered 350 - 500 acres.

It was done after a study from those 3 people was published and showed the amount of aquifer recharge that would occur from the diversion. But it had been proposed 10 - 15 years earlier.

They worked with the ranchers and farmers who's land would be impacted but since it was done in the winter the trees and fields would be dormant and the expected damage would be minimal.

It worked amazingly well and recharged several key aquifers in the area and the ranchers & farmers land got a ton of free water.

But it was a 'pilot' program and the state only agreed to do it once.

Haven't heard a thing about it since.

And the fucking leftists want to tear down O'Shaughnessy Dam, which forms the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, drain the reservoir, and restore the upper Yosemite Valley...

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir can store as much as 117 billion gallons for the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System, which serves San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda and San Mateo counties.

Another great fucking leftist idea.
