I wanted to post this in Part 1:
Rico is correct. I wasn’t talking about the prevention of future outbreaks because that wasn’t important at that moment on time. Dealing with the Covid 19 outbreak was what needed to be addressed, not distracting everyone by creating more of an enemy with China and the targeting of Asians for hate crimes when everyone was frustrated with the lockdowns.
That doesn’t mean that China should not be blamed for the outbreak if it is proven that they did in fact create it in a lab. In fact, I would hope that China is punished severely for inflicting Covid onto the world and to prevent them and other bad actors from doing it again in the future.
The risk that you conspiracy theorists have is that you keep on throwing out false theories, most of which are completely implausible. Why would anyone believe anything you say when you also claimed Covid was caused by 5G towers, or that it was no more dangerous than the average flu, or that the vaccine killed people and wasn’t actually effective in preventing death from Covid?
Occasionally, conspiracy theorists may get something right, but that doesn’t mean you will suddenly be seen as a credible source of information.

I'll make this short about China.
They did a fine, fine job preventing or minimizing waves of infections for a long period of time but failed to be as aggressive in vaccinating their population as they were in use of mitigations. Big mistake. They had ample time for sure.

they did great locking shit down...there was something about locking shit down domestically and letting flights go out internationally. pretty sure that kinda stuff is getting scrubbed
think they had some PPE issues going on? might have to look back and see if there were problems with italy or countries like that on the stuff

I believe China failed to keep their citizens from spreading the virus all over the world. They should have been more proactive about stopping international travel with they realized the virus was spreading quickly.
China's vaccine was also proven to be ineffective or at least much less effective than the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
And if they did in fact create essentially a bioweapon that they failed to contain, then China must pay a very heavy price for what they cost the world. It can't be overlooked.

The whole #tdlr is not bullshit...I described, not what should happen (which we agree on) but what actually happens with CDC messaging. Itt would be in their and the country's best interest if the CDC was absolutely transparent and honest. Just say...we don't know for sure but from what we can tell, washing your hands and wearing a mask helps. Unfortunately I don't think they trust that the American public will do the right thing unless their told with complete authority that perhaps they don't fully possess. But they should trust that we can understand the nuances. It's just that that's not how they work
The energy department's statement concluding that Covid came from a lab leak, but adding that they have low confidence in that conclusion, is the first bit of honesty with gray area I've seen from a government agency in a while. It's not definitive. But it is as much as it can be right now. Media outlets will twist it to emphasize whatever they want, but the Energy Department's statement at least attempted to give information and put it on context. They think it's a lab leak. How confident are they? Not very, but it leans that way for them.
Either way, lab leak or wet market, China's obfuscation allowed the outbreak get out of control and spread worldwide. F-ed up, no matter how it originated.

Let's not forget China is a totalitarian state.
Pretty easy to control your population when you can weld the apartment door shut of any Chinese that might have contracted COVID.
That's what you get when you have a strong central government.
Did China (with or without funding from US's Dr. F) create the virus?
Probably - will you have 'useful idiots' that will defend China - yes, we don't have to look far to see China apologists.
It might be unfair, but I lump all strong "top down" central government run systems in the same "evil" bag.
Stalin intentionally starved millions of "his" people, while exporting grain to fund the Military..... that kind of top down evil is what I refer to.
Is China that far removed from the former CCCP? I think not.

It's apparent that China will never cooperate with finding the origins the covid outbreak,
which means in my opinion that they actually know the truth and have already
destroyed all the evidence. But there seems to be plenty of evidence that points
to a lab leak, including the testimony of a doctor who worked at the Wuhan lab.
China doesn't need to go into combat with the US. Just weaken our economy
by buying off politicians and anyone who wants to do business in China as
well as release a virus on the world.
Historically China has never won a war and the fact with the size of its population
they do not dominate the Olympics is an indication that physically they aren't that tough!
The day a Chinaman beats a Black in the 100m will the day that China could dominate
the world. An all out war with the US would cause a lot of damage to the entire world.
In the meantime there will be a lot of saber rattling.
Things will get a lot worse before they get better for many.
Hopefully many HX members have better karma than others.
