the only way we can ever get out of this is to produce more than we spend.

now we have been spending way too much during the past many years and ended up with a gloming national debt.
i think the only way out is to take the social security fund to pay off our debt.
yes its gonna hurt but i dont see any other available options, yes we can keep pulling the wool over our eyes and not see the problem, but it just keeps growing.
serious spending cuts would have to be enacted as well.

lived way beyond means - on borrowed money.
its not that different than whats going on here in US currently.
many people live way above their means.
especially when we start talking about living wages and similar programs.
even min salaries can be sketchy if the levels are not - lets say "market realistic"
we do not need to completely erase the welfare state, it is possible to have a welfare state but it requires a serious "dialing in" and using social security fund would possible be a first step.

The Fed uses “risk-weighted capital” to judge a bank’s health, per D/F rules.
This completely ignores "duration risk", which is what got SVB.
It's got nothing to do with Trump changes and even Barney Frank said so.
The problem lies mostly with the Fed, where the fuck was their oversight when SVB was taking in short term deposits and loading up on unhedged long term "riskless" Treasuries???
Sure enough, SVB had stupid management but where were the regulators? The San Francisco Fed office is run by a woke idiot.

The original sin starts at the FED with 0% interest rates and shitty oversight.

Trump overturned all of the safety regulations for the railroad system and look what happened in East Palestine, OH and elsewhere!

as well as all the stupid regulations and the bottleneck supply chain issues as well as curbing fuel

And then the FED telling Banks to hold treasury bonds , while the FED started raising the interest rate at a rapid rate. Causing bond yields on long term bonds to crash.
add to that the high interest rates caused invesment capital to dry up in the tech sector and in the housing markets.
The banks who dealt in those investments crashed because they had all these long term bonds with low yields.
and had to sell them at a lost. to try to become liquid
that is what happened for the most part except with SIgnature bank which was rumored to be solvent and the FDIC seized them anyway and Credit Suisse which has been a basket case for a while
