Sure, Republicans rally around him now, but what happens after he gets indicted two or three more times on much stronger cases?
And it may seem that it took a long time to bring these cases against Trump, but when you’re bringing them against a former President, you need to have air tight, slam dunk cases. I expect to see a mountain of damning evidence against him.
There is almost no chance that Trump won’t be convicted.
And then the idiots will say all of this is political. If any of you committed a tenth of the crimes he committed, you’d be in prison for decades, if not executed for treason. If Trump were given a pass,that would be politically motivated.
He, like every other citizen, needs to pay for his crimes.

Interesting clip. I have always liked Megyn Kelly (MK), and Alan Dershowitz (AD) is an icon in his field. In this clip they both were very careful to distinguish the difference between the law and personal opinions. I think that this clip is fair and good reporting.
Words mean a lot. MK was very careful to use the word "allegedly" instead of saying "Trump did that..." That makes her statements absolutely truthful in my view. Her questions appeared to be very focused and non-leading. What really impresses me about MK is her ability to say, "I'm over it!" when referring to her previous run-ins with DJT. In this clip, she showed absolutely no animosity towards DJT despite the terrible things he said about her on a national stage. That is the mark of true maturity. She doesn't have to like DJT, or Biden, to do a fair job in reporting. Kudos to MK!
If the DJT team has any smarts at all, they should be trying to recruit AD for their defense team. Talk about maturity and a true professional - he openly says he is not a DJT political supporter but is quick to come to DJT's defense of his constitutional rights. This is the kind of person that, in a perfect world, would be a great anchor on a major network news broadcast.
Question: does anyone think that this clip clearly showed a bias by either MK or AD?
"Fair Play" in blogging is difficult to achieve. Making fair statements seems to be a lost art. Here is what I think the rules on blogging should be:
1) Clearly differentiate between a fact vs. a personal opinion. No one has the right to degrade you because of your personal opinions, but they have an absolute right to challenge your statement of facts.
2) If you make a statement of fact, it is best to cite a source for it, but at least be prepared to supply the source if challenged on it. In other words, do your homework and be prepared to defend your position.
3) Try to remain civil in the discourse. As soon as a discussion resorts to name calling, nothing intelligent will be said from that point on. It is no longer a debate, it is a shit-slinging show.
Just following these 3 rules would make a world of difference in these blogs. Currently, I find about 90% of the content to be shit-slinging, and about 10% worthy of my attention. But as I said in the previous blog, I have to sort through the garbage to find that 10% that is worthy enough to occupy space in my brain. And that 10% is not just things that I agree with, it is everything that is well researched and just makes sense based on the fair reporting of the subject. In that 10%, I sometimes find something that will change my mind about a subject or at least make me think very hard about my position on it. That is my search for truth! I actually like having my positions challenged and occasionally finding something that will change my mind - it is a good feeling to know that my brain still has some elasticity left.

Electing DJT to be president by a majority of American citizens was a referendum on the sad state of affairs that politics in America had become. They weren't electing him for his knowledge, leadership, or experience; they elected him because he was "different." He was not a professional politician. Americans were, and still are in my view, fed up with politics as usual.
Unfortunately, we are not real quick to admit that we might have been wrong, hence the ardent support for DJT even in light of his current situation. We just can't come to the point of saying, "I was wrong!" Personal hubris has overcome logic and reason.
I have a dream: DJT gets convicted for any crimes he may have committed. This sends a clear message to everyone in the world that in America, no one is above the law. DJT spends one day in jail and is then transferred to prison. He spends one day in prison then Biden pardons him saying, "OK, drama over, let's get back to business!"

I’m no fan of Trump and I think any reasonable person would acknowledge that it is more likely than not that Trump banged Stormy Daniels. That said, I really wish the prosecutorial action on this never happened. Of all the shitty, immoral, illegal stuff Trump has done, this case as to be close to the bottom of the list in terms of importance and impact. This case will likely turn out to be an embarrassment not for Trump, but for the Dems.
Trump has the mentality of a mob boss and has conducted himself as such long before he got into politics. His recent social media posts warning of “death and destruction” if he is found guilty are no different than the mob boss telling a merchant that he would hate to see him or his family have a terrible accident if they fail to pay protection money. We know exactly the message he is sending, and the manner in which he sends it allows him to say “I never threatened anyone.”
There are likely more indictments ahead for Trump. Not because he is the subject of a witch hunt, but because he did so many questionable (and probably illegal) things, ranging from his attempts to get the AG of Georgia to “find” votes for him to his refusal to return classified documents he took and stored at Mar-a-Lago.

Flimsy charges about a pornstar incident that happened about 7 years ago. Even the DOJ refused to charge him. How does this pornstar fiasco really threaten the Republic. ? So we have a liberal Democratic DA who often refuses to charge violent crimes get off on such nonsense in this case. ? It is surely a political prosecution and nothing more. I agree. Under normal circumstances I would say if DJT is going to be rejected or repudiated by the American people, let it be at the polls, not by a jury of just 12 people. The only problem is, even if DJT lost big in 2024 the shit-storm about rigged and stolen elections would just start all over again. I don't think this country can stand round 2 of that! He just needs to silently go away. His brand of leadership is not helpful for this country. He can be a power player in the Republican Party, he just shouldn't be the face of it.

After watching the Megan Kelly and Alan Dershowitz clip it offered up a segment on MSNBC by Lawrence O'Donnell. He started out by name calling which is clearly an attempt at spreading his bias which made me want to click him off immediately. But I painfully watched it all. Although he did make some factual points, his delivery and tone overshadowed the importance of them. When you don't want to really hear another word from this idiot, it is difficult to accept anything he says, even if factual. That segment was followed by an offer to watch an interview of Bob Woodward about his tapes on his interviews with DJT (link attached). I really like this one. It is long, but worthy of watching if you want to try to understand why DJT says and does the things he does. Woodward had unprecedented access to DJT, even in the White House. You may not like the end results of some of Woodward's article and books, but I recognize his professional journalistic efforts. He is a true professional.
