does this mean you don't want to see this go on?

New York Criminal Procedure Law Section 30.30, also known as “statutory speedy trial,” requires the prosecution to establish its readiness for trial on an “offense” within a specific codified time period after the commencement of a criminal action.
Felony: 6 months
A Misdemeanor: 90 days
B Misdemeanor: 60 days
Violation: 30 days
So, the next date for Trump is Dec 4 outside the 6 month felony time period. I think the safe assumption is that Trump's defense team requested additional time to do discovery and prepare their multiple motions. I'm pretty sure the judge would not violate 30.30 on purpose or through ignorance.
Like I said, what a way to go through life.

|
I heard that the long window until the next hearing in December suggests that the DA may add additional charges related to fraudulent documents, probably concerning Trump’s tax returns, expanding the scope beyond the hush money payments.
|
|
i heard trump may want this to start in the spring of 2024...so he can get TV coverage
it looks like the judge set the dates, which are pretty normal
what is that august date again?
|
|
DA already did their heavy lifting putting the case together for the grand jury. The defense gets all the evidence "discovery" from the DA when they and defense lawyers agreed on a protective order governing how the materials would be handled or discussed. So, the defense will have a lot to go through with 34 felony counts.
Plus, they will put together what will probably be a lot of motions for that Dec 4 court date. Things like dismiss the case, change the venue, etc. The judge set a date of Aug. 8th for all motions to be filed by the defense and prosecutors will have until Sept. 19 to respond.
|
|
so does TRUMP know the main charge yet? or needs to wait until august to get it?
|
|
Trump's defense will get all the evidence gathered as part of the investigation (known as “discovery”) from the prosecution on a set timeline. In Trump's case, where there is apparently a mountain of material, prosecutors said in court Tuesday that they would be able to produce the bulk of evidence to the defense within 65 days and both need to agreed on a protective order governing how the materials would be handled or discussed.
That includes the minutes from the grand jury process, the testimony from every witness (sometimes with redactions), law enforcement notes of anyone interviewed (even if they didn’t testify in front of the grand jury), every exhibit put in front of the grand jury to substantiate the charges in the indictment and other records prosecutors obtained through subpoenas (think telephone records, tapes, things of that nature).
|
|
Trump's defense team will look at all the evidence and decide what to do with regards to motions and have until Aug. 8th to file them per the judge's order.
The defense team has already said it will file motions to get the case dismissed, but there could be motions to transfer the case out of Manhattan, motions that the statute of limitations expired, or motions on the sufficiency of the evidence, and whatever else they can legally cook up.

is that unusual btw?
not knowing what the exact crime being charged is for the indickedment/court appearance where he is actually saying not guilty?
BUT there is a main charge that is not known yet? where he can't say not guilty to on that day in court?
there might be a theory on that btw....what might that be?
|
|
I am not sure I understand what you are asking.
The DA impaneled a grand jury at the end of January. This was made public and it was after the Trump Org, Weisselberg, and Cohen were all convicted for felonies. The grand jury determined there was enough evidence to indict Trump. Yeah, he gets the specific charges at the arraignment, but it is not like it was a surprise.
Plus, Trump was indicted on March 30 and his defense team was giving the basic information that informs of the charges against Trump. Then they negotiate Trump's arraignment date and for a high profile person the details about mugshots, perp walk, etc, etc.

here's an axios artical
every legal analyst and their mother have asked this question...if you have been watching or reading ANYTHING...you of course know and have left it out for a reason
what's it called when you play dumb or omit something btw?
many on here do it...don't be another one that gets tagged with it
which you shouldn't care too much, as everyone has already said this case is dead and Jsmith is bringing the wood on the FBI case

Bragg’s case is a legal mess — what is he even charging Trump with?
By Jonathan Turley
April 4, 2023
few blurbs of another article
Bragg released an indictment that was so vague on key elements that it is unclear what the grand jury thought it was voting on. He vaguely referenced state and federal election laws and later refused to add any details on how they relate to the prosecution.
The result is an indictment with the substance of a legal Slurpee: it was immediately satisfying for many with virtually no legal substance.
Bragg solved the problem over his uncertain authority by avoiding any specificity on that authority. He could have put “details to follow” in the caption of the indictment.
Legal experts went immediately into a frenzy over what this could mean and what was the crime that Trump was allegedly covering up with payments to cover up alleged affairs with three women.
If these experts were left scratching their heads on such key elements, how did laypersons on a grand jury understand the basis for this indictment?
We may learn more from the bill of particulars, but this indictment is unintelligible for a legal perspective in understanding the basis for the prosecution.

Alvin Bragg’s Case Against Trump Is Still a Mystery
The Manhattan DA released the indictment today after Trump’s arraignment, but we still don’t know enough to evaluate the prosecution
April 4, 2023
What we don’t know — at least with the precision necessary to evaluate the case’s strengths and weaknesses — is the District Attorney’s specific legal theory of how Trump was defrauding anyone and how he was promoting or concealing a crime by doing so. That may sound like law pedantry, but it’s crucial to understanding the case.
Commentators disagree, but some argue that Bragg will have to prove that Trump conned someone out of money or property, or at least impeded the government’s functions, to prove he falsified his books with intent to defraud under the statute. We don’t know Bragg’s theory of how he’d meet that burden, because neither the indictment nor the Statement of Facts spells it out.

Those are like opinions, man.
I was trying to inform you of the procedures of what happened, but you just want to argue about shit. I don't give a fuck what happens to Trump. Thought he was a conman from day one. The only new revaluation about him over the last 8 years or so is that he is also a moron.
Must be hard being enraged about everything and seeing a boogieman around every corner. Like I said, take your meds.
|
|
of course they're opinions...from each side saying what did not happen, that normally should have happened
thank you for informing and keeping us safe btw
try and tell the whole story though
|

Opinions?... WTF?
Bragg's case is a mystery. He sliced a misdemeanor that nobody wanted to prosecute 34 ways and mysteriously elevated it to a crime.
Then when asked by the media in his own clown show what the charge was he replied "the does not specify that I need to state that"...
So he just indicted the first President, put 38,
00 cops on duty for the day at an estimated expense of $200M for an alledged $130k payment and he doesn't need to divulge what's going down?...
This is like the affidavit with the Mar a Lago raid that they finally showed us after 3% of the redactions are removed...
Why did the FBI go in?... "None of ya Fuggin Business "
Same shit different day.
The heat's on Joe with all of his poor handling of docs for which he had NO DECLASSIFICATION AUTHORITY and his family business scandals taking payments from foreign players..
But let's distract to Trump.

Summary:
The Dems are the law and are self-righteous.
The Rebpubs are wrong and need to go to jail because
we are in power and they oppose us.
Simple: All those who oppose us should at least be silenced
or be imprisoned, or both.
|
|
Tell that to the grand jury that decided the evidence warranted indicting Trump. That's what happened. Deal with it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
|
|
^ that's exactly it
Democracy exists when Democrats are in full control and there is no opposition.
|
|
The evidence doesn't warrant hauling in a ham sandwich moron.
This is political election interference plain and simple.

Great News!

The political motivations are obvious to everyone around the globe.

didn't think you could last a day

Even CNN said the case is flimsy as hell.
I wonder how many more world leaders are going to come out and state that this case makes America seem like a banana republic. Zambia and El Salvador have already mocked Biden and Kamala for this. Democrats embarrassing America on the world stage yet again.

You know it’s bad when even Jeb Bush, John Bolton, and Mitt Romney came to Trump’s defense.

You're a lost cause. Trumpanzees till the end.

NOTHING UNTIL DECEMBER 4TH!!! What kind of BS is this.
How many porn stars are going to get paid off while the court takes its sweet time?
No porn star is going to be safe from a payoff until he is put away.

The latest world leader to admonish the actions against Trump is the President of Mexico...
"Mexico’s president said Wednesday he opposes the criminal charges filed against former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting they were brought for political reasons during an electoral campaign.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said the charges filed in New York against Trump, who is campaigning to regain the presidency in the 2024 election, represented “the degradation of due respect for the law.”
“I don’t agree with what they are doing to former President Trump,” López Obrador said at his morning news briefing. “I do not know if crimes were committed, it’s not my place.”
“Supposedly legal, judicial issues should not be used for political, electoral purposes,” he said. “Don’t make up crimes to affect adversaries.”

Re: Mexico wall

Kudos to the bear for the link on post 1, thank you
|
|
The bear symbolizes the unhinging and derangement of America (this includes Trumpees also).
You are the logical extension of Donald Trump’s claiming he won the election he lost; of Joe Biden’s branding “MAGA Republicans” a “clear and present danger” to “our democracy”; of right-wing groups planning and executing an assault on the Capitol; of the Russia-collusion hoax; of partisan impeachments; of tech companies censoring political and scientific information to promote ideological and partisan agendas; of retired intelligence officials interfering with the 2020 election by making false claims about the Hunter Biden laptop; of law students shouting down federal judges with the encouragement of university administrators.
Bread and circuses
Banana republic
Some of you are poster children for derangement
If it were funny, laughing emoji would go here

I need the Bears help handing out the Trumpsoft Tissue.

Ship the bear a container ship full and bill me.
Least I can do for the guy who has to go thru life like this.
