Buck Gully Trail. Cool single path hike through the canyon, climb up to great ocean and harbor views for a short stretch on San Joaquin, then drop back down to your starting point.
Loop trail with trailhead in residential area. My favorite for a quick afternoon hike.

Crystal Cove trails are closed right now. Check their site to see when they open back up. You can park for free at Coastal Peak Park in the Newport Coast hills at the back of Crystal Cove State Park. Watch and listen for rattle-snakes, peak season right now.

@Flappy -
Nice guide, Looks like it makes it simple for someone that might be a bit of a beginner.
To add to that, two resources can be:
www.alltrails.com - MANY local hikes, gives good usefull data.
If you want to create your own route, especially good if you want to go off trail, easy to create your own routes
www.gaiagps.com
Being able to have basic understanding of maps (contour lines, orienting a map etc) is helpful.

Don't let them get you down.
