Today in gloom: some fucked up shit

I don’t know what some of you have been pumping into your body, but some scary shit is out there.

“ Bacteria that renders colistin, a “last resort” antibiotic, ineffective are lurking in SoCal’s wastewater. While bacteria resistant to colistin have been found elsewhere in the world, this marks the first detection in Los Angeles wastewater. The bacteria and associated genes that provide resistance to colistin were discovered at the county’s two largest wastewater plants. One treatment center serves 4 million residents, the other serves 3.5 million.”

In short, bacteria that is strong against the “final” antibiotic you can take has been found in the waste water. Someone’s been pooping some nasty stuff and may infect neighbors.

Much like Trump.

The only people who I know that would be taking waste water (sewage) and "pumping it into your body" are Democrats.

The rest of us with a brain shouldn't fret too much.

Yawn.

@remo_williams

You might be surprised! San Diego has a pilot program of reclaiming and recycling waste water (read: sewer water) and filtering it via reverse osmosis (same process as used on the Space Station). Technically speaking, it is actually cleaner than the water we currently get out of the tap. However, because people just can't wrap their heads around drinking recycled sewer water they won't pump it directly into the main water mains. They pump this ultra-clean water into the reservoirs where it gets mixed up with fish/bird shit and rotting vegetation THEN run it through the normal filtration system and deliver it to our taps!

If this new antibiotic resistant bacteria is that bad, I would rather drink the recycled sewer water! Bacteria can't get through the reverse osmosis filters - AS LONG AS THEY ARE PROPERLY MAINTAINED (another scary what-if!).

Just like life in general - "Damned if you do - and damned if you don't!" So, no sense worrying about it.

So some folks from Shitcan's tribe came here from Africa and took a dump...

Makes Shitcan's name even more fitting...an antibiotic resistant bacteria.

We’ve been doing it for years in the GWRS. Treated wastewater in injected to replenish the groundwater (which eventually becomes tap water again) and to support the seawater intrusion defenses. What goes around cums around.

He found a way to still cry about Trump in the end. Pretty pathetic at this point.

Golf courses use tons of water. In addition to golf courses, parks, agriculture, green belts, and landscaping. Many of these use treated wastewater. So once is gets into the gutters out to sea it goes.
