Just because something is not understood does not make it supernatural.
People used to think the wind was a supernatural activity. Same for rain, sunrise, sunset, phases of the moon, crop growth, crop failure, drought, etc.
Before the 1700s, lightning was widely believed to be a weapon of the devil, especially since it struck churches so often. Of course, churches were usually the tallest buildings in town, too, but that didn't occur to anybody.
Considering the trend over thousands of years, I personally bet heavy against the supernatural 'miracles'.
It is just stuff we haven't figured out yet. People really HATE just saying, "I don't know". So they like to say it is God or it's the Devil.

Civilization is often driven by power. Civilization remained pretty much the same thru out history until we were able to utilize combustion and electricity. When that happened that changed everything.
As far as supernatural goes, that can be labeled anything that Mankind cannot truly understand
Many people think that mankind has reached the pinnacle of technology but in the grand scheme of things we are just embryo's. We are not even infants.
The greatest technology, that mankind has ever produced is an idea.. Yet no one understands where idea's actually come from.
The animals have the same biological components as Men, but there is a massive difference between Men and animals, and that comes down to consciousness.
And I believe that consciousness is the greatest power of them all, and Mankind has not even scratched the surface of that great power.
Rather than trying to understand what consciosness and how best to harness it. We simply call it supernatural

This blog gave me a thought:
What if, a couple of million years ago, aliens similar to us from a dying world searched out for a another planet in order to survive. By the time they found earth, there weren't many of them left, so inbreeding took its toll. In they end the highly inbred species started exhibiting significant abnormal transformations. They almost died out! Then those that did survive started a strain that morphed into some primates as we know them, our ancestors. Those primates developed a larger gene pool and started to morph themselves, into the human form that we are today.
Proving the point that what goes around, comes around!
Fuckl - I'm going to write a book! Maybe even a screenplay!

intelligent life comes in many different variations.
ie a virus
or something as simple as a bacteria or a spore
or imagine one of these used by an alien life form to transmit something to us - maybe consciousness, maybe knowledge/technology.
