Special means many different things to different people.
What it means to a guy is always different to women.
Logic and Emotions often times don't mix well.
Now if you want or can make us feel genuinely Special well that's good too.
Or think of it as the three P's. But that's rather shallow.

I think specials are when provider has some personal issues and needs quick money. I believe nothing is more pathetic then a lady offering a special at the end of the month for rent when we all know in this business she should be able to pay her rent with the 1st 5 days of work.

Not a bad pricing strategy to offer a "special" if you are new, have some short term financial challenges etc. but as noted there's also risk to the buyer.
Pricing is a super interesting and massivly complex subject (if you don't believe me try and figure out airline prices). Lots of scope to optimize here. For example "specials" or lower rates in the morning when activity is low. "Surge" prices after the bars close and libido is amped up. Etc, etc.
