From one of these, I’ve read somewhere that a lower-bound estimate of lives saved in the US from the vaccine was ~750,000 people, and therefore clearly more than a million worldwide.
I use these as conservative estimates.

Yes, the pandemic has been a 0.8 for those people who just got colds or were asymptomatic and had no friend or family member be hospitalized or worse. Basically weren’t affected by the virus.
But for the roughly one million US dead, I’d say it was a 10.
For maybe 10-15% of the population who had serious health issues or were elderly, or had family members like that, and lived below the poverty line or didn’t have health insurance, or did witness hospitalizations and/or deaths, like what was observed in New York City in the beginning, I don’t know what number between 0 and 10 I’d use, but it sure as hell wouldn't be anywhere remotely close to 0.8.

Hard to argue with that list actually, although I personally would up this pandemic rating higher than point 8. Haven't done the math but, as I recall, roughly one third of Europe died in the plague. If that's a 10, then we'd need about 2.5 billion dead to match that ratio.
I don't think we were anywhere near that number, even counting those who died "with" covid vs. "from" covid. Maybe up it to a 1 or 1.5?
