I literally laughed out loud. Actually it's a sad story. As a child, my guardians believed hiding my roots and pretending to be black or latino was best so, they made me cut my hair, speak English, spanish or french only and not use any asian or middle eastern products publicly. I still was taught in customs from my family's cultures but, had to pretend to be black publicly. No one believed I was black or Latino so it was pointless. I had black skin and a yellow chest. No one told me this was due to lack of sunscreen for years so I was embarrassed and thought I had a skin condition. Which asshole doctors agreed instead of prescribing some otc sunscreen.
To keep up their lies, they Even made me use harnful hair products to make me believe I was black even though I don't have to straighten my hair in the first today. Now I live natural. No skin tone altering or hair products which alter texture. I just want to balance my complexion back to yellow asap.
