What dosage?
Asking for a friend.
|
|
wait what
no more Z packs?
|
|
Dose is Doxycycline 200 mg. orally, once, within 72 hours of having sex without a condom.
It reduced the risk of gonorrhea by over 50% and reduced the risk of chlamydia and syphilis by over 75%.
"Z packs", aka Azithromycin, were not tested for effectiveness.
Although it has activity against gonorrhea and chlamydia, its benefit for this purpose, or lack thereof, is unknown.
It has no known activity against syphilis.
Again, this will not protect a person from infection with HIV, Hepatitis B, Herpes, or Human Papilloma Virus-HPV; use condoms.
The SB comment is repugnant, "butz" you knew that.

Repugnant is a man sticking his pecker in another man's anal cavity.

I have this info posted in my safe and sound club
Please join I'd love to share more info to those interested

I think Azithromycin in the Z pack is bacteriostatic vs Doxycycline 200 mg is bacteriocidal. One helps stop the growth and multiplication of the bacteria and the other kills the bacteria.

Male to male intercourse, substance abuse users and people who have a lot of sex (male and women) are also people who should look into it due to being high risk
And we know there are at least 2 out of 3 of those kinds of people on here

Also note they there is a difference between PReP and PeP
One is taken to prevent the future exposure of HIV and one is taken if you have an accident and think that you may have been exposed (has to be taken within 72hours of said incident(
Even if you aren't a high risk person like one of the 3 that I listed before, being intimate with people who are still can put you at risk . Sadly you never know what someone's private life entails so always do your part in protecting yourself.
(Pasted from my clu
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (or PrEP) is medicine taken to prevent getting HIV. PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV when taken as prescribed. PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99%. PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from injection drug use by at least 74%.
Side note ...
I have been taking it for a while now and like it. I explained the details in my club about my experience but you HAVE to take a series of STD test and be negative of all stds including HIV of course to start.
With my insurance the medicine was free. Without insurance it's about $2,000 and even with the discount codes that I found it's about $500... So it's something to think about as well but when it comes to being safe a price shouldn't matter
I also go into details about vaginal smells and meanings and will be posting about "warts vs skin tags"
Happy safe sex everyone

Gilbert33, beware that Asia also have strains of gonorrhea that are antibiotic resistant.

almaplacida1 it is a big service you've done here letting the Hx community know of this.
(You beat me to it: I've been meaning to post this since it came out last Tuesday.)
One clarification: best if doxycycline is taken within 24 hours of possible exposure.
One thing this means is that those of us who enjoy BBBJ can have a supply of doxycycline on hand, and then take one within the day after BBBJ to very significantly decrease the risk of contracting CT or GC (or syphilis). A huge step forward!
Of course also those that give BBBJ.
Thank you CDPH and almapacida1!

Please go to your doc or licensed physician to get any and all medicines
I know when I go to Costa Rica you can practically get any kind of medicine that you want but taking things without knowledge will cause more issues in the long run. This is how strains become resistant to antibiotics. Also you need to be negative of STDs to take this medicine. If you already have HIV and you're taking medicine to prevent you catching HIV then it's not going to work ... Be careful of taking other people's pills too.
Do what you please you're all adults but just be knowledgeable and mindful as well

I've had two family members pass away from aids
One was an uncle from Los Angeles 10 years ago and my trans cousin from San Francisco just passed away 6 months ago (he was only 32).. I can admit that they were both gay males and heavy substance abusers (needle) but they were also black so idk if race really plays a part
|
|
Also there are a lot of white bi males on here
Plus even if you're not directly having sex with them everyone on here are connected in some way
So please be mindful of that as well. It's not necessarily who you see but who they see, and who they see, and so on

Gilbert, I remember my 50s, it was a great decade. The Thai girls are a great value, the soapy body slides are memorable, now that weed is legal, you should have the time of your life - enjoy!
PS: Make sure you're not dealing with a ladyboy before the fun starts.

Thanks for your thoughts Bad Brad. Overall I agree with you, yes.
You are talking about HIV transmission.
The CDPH release and the subject of this blog is about bacterial STDs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis) transmission and their killing by doxycycline (an antibacterial drug) not HIV (a virus). Doxycycline does nothing against HIV.
Cheers.
