So is Dr. David E. Martin an expert, or simply an opportunist? When I read his resume type materials I see that he is involved in a lot of things. If he is to be considered an "expert" at anything if would have to be his work in "intellectual property-based financial risk management." Hardly an infectious disease control expert. The fact that he seems to have money-making ventures in several fields makes me tend to lean more towards the opportunist label.

The govt should not force you to take an experimental vaccine.
You used to have the right to refuse medical treatment.
Apparently, not anymore. This appears to be contrary to our constitutional rights.
I remember Biden lying about the effectiveness of the vaccine.
The data showed that covid-19 mainly killed the elderly, those over 60.
Approximately 92% of the people who died of covid in the US were over 60.
The younger you were the less likely you were to die of covid-19, yet govt.
policies wrecked the lives of many the abled bodied with business
and school shutdowns.

^ I don't think it is fair to blame the Dems exclusively. Mask mandates were in place during DJT's tenure. And being government in general was an unavoidable trap. Had the gov done nothing then they would have been roasted for letting a lot more people die. Damned it you do - and damned if you don't. And don't forget, 90% of COVID deaths were among the non-vaccinated.
As a country, I sometimes think we are just too moralistic. No doubt we would let a lot of people be inconvenienced in an effort to save even one life. The military concept of "no man left behind" is a typical example (albeit, to the extreme). If a person is already dead in the middle of a contested battlefield, does it really make sense to risk even more lives in an effort to retrieve the body while under fire? It is all for a moralistic code that is intended to inspire esprit de corps. In a pure logical sense, it doesn't make any sense at all. But that is the American way!
In the military, there is no such thing as "freedom of choice." In society, we have, and had, the ability to not be forced into anything. We didn't have to wear a mask, we just couldn't go anywhere in public if we didn't. If our workplace mandated masks we didn't have to wear one, we were free to quit and find a job where it wasn't required. Hell, we don't even need to pay taxes, we just can't have anything of value in our name if we don't. We have always had a plethora of options available to us, but we bitched, complained, protested, and bad-mouthed all of those options because we didn't like having our cozy little lifestyles interrupted, even if by not doing so a lot more people would have died, mostly the elderly.
People just like to bitch, period! COVID-19 brought out both the best and the worst in people. It mainly exposed a general selfishness in people that I only suspected existed in our usually overly moralistic American culture. Now I know it for a fact! We can obviously be not only selfish, but mean spirited as well - "Fuck those old people - let'em die! Just don't fuck with my happy hour!"
And if you think that the Dems were trying to "control the masses" then what would you say about the Catholic Church, or organized religion in general?

I can confirm 2 things.
1. The Chinese scientist tasked to prove Covid-19 is natural is a woman. She fled to the USA to tell the world it is a lab made virus, paid for partially by the military.
She gave up her family, her husband and her life to tell the truth. Her husband is now in Boston as a honey trap so that the Chinese govt can kill her if they catch her.
2. A military virus from a smart opponent would injure or disable young men as much as possible. It would not be intentionally lethal because to reduce military readiness, the opponent must be forced to expend maximum resources. Dead soldiers are less problematic than sick soldiers.
This is why young men are the highest risk group in vaccine trials. The better the spikes can get to the heart with low body fat and high circulation, the more effective the weapon. (It is the same spike protein)

@Marrisa_G, prior to the vaccine, the data from the CDC was already showing that covid
deaths were occurring among the elderly, not young people. So why didn't the government
decide to isolate the elderly and let the other young healthy people go about their business?
Having the military personnel taking the vaccine is a different issue. I'm talking about
the general public having the right to chose whether they want to take the vaccine.
It seems unconstitutional to me.
The CDC data also showed that few children died of covid-19, yet Fauci and the CDC pushed
for children to take the vaccine when other doctors were in disagreement.
There was data that the masks being used by most, didn't work.
Shortly after the pandemic broke out in the US, I happen to see a news story on NHK,
a Japanese international broadcasting company that interviewed a University of
Hong Kong epidemiologist, who stated a lot of research had already been done on the sars virus
which is related to the corvid virus and any shutdown should only be done as a last
resort. This data was totally ignored by the US govt. Shutdowns were the first to
take place.
This lib idea of saving lives at all costs is not practical or realistic.
Dem governors have executive powers to control the masses, the Catholic church
or organized religion does not. Many used that power to control the activities
of the people in their states.

The Dems used the pandemic to gain an advantage in voting, by sending
ballots to all registered voters and allow others to collect the ballots.
If you haven't noticed in CA, once the envelop is open there is no way to
prove that the ballot you marked can be traced to you. They only keep the
envelope that you signed. I'm sure this was done by design.
As a former auditor, each ballot sheet should have a number and your
signature should be on each sheet so if there is any question about the ballot,
it can be traced back to you.

In one word - "transmission"
Young children appear to have a statistical advantage against becoming severely ill, but those little rug-rats run around, touch things, climb on things (including grandma's lap), don't cover their mouths when they sneeze, and essentially have no concept of disease transmission make for the perfect biological bomb. In regards to transmission of diseases, children really are the super highway for cross contamination.
It was never about protecting YOU, evident that you had the option to choose your own treatment (Pfizer, Moderna, de-worming medicine, injecting bleach, or nothing at all) it was about protecting society as a whole; and more specifically, the most vulnerable of the population, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. YOUR personal actions were only controlled in regards to YOUR interactions in public with other people (school, church, grocery store, concerts, etc,). Although catching COVID in your 20's was probably not much worse than getting the flu, it represented a super serious threat to other segments of the population.

While technically true, many assisted living locations, outside of NY, were very locked down and the youngsters could easily be excluded from "sitting on granny's lap", so to speak. It's really just a function of how committed you were to being sequestered.

While in hindsight, we didn’t need to shut every state down, transmission was clearly greater in states that weren’t as strict. Now, for a bunch of states, this would have been ok because transmission didn’t have the impact on deaths that we assumed at the beginning, but for states with high urban populations & densities, large income inequality, & poor access to health care (like states in the Northeast & parts of California), this means things would probably have been significantly worse without closures and mandates.

China fucked up because closures, testing, and quarantines should be as short as possible and used as a last resort, to temporarily reduce numbers infected until you can immunize the public and develop good treatments. Instead, the kept lockdowns going for way too long and failed to adequately increase population immunity.

Sure, populations with these pre-Covid factors have poorer health outcomes *generally*, but I mentioned these factors here *specifically* because it's how they interact with disease transmission that leads to poorer outcomes. During a pandemic, these are the populations most in need of mitigation measures.

there no way to track the ballot once the envelope was opened.
If you went in person to fill out the ballot, that ballot is numbered and you are given
a receipt that shows that number, so the. ballot could be traced back to the person
making out the ballot.
I believe CA's system is ripe for fraud.
