I thought this blog was going to be about an entirely different GPS, but yes, young lads and ladies, try not to drive into the lake or off the end of a pier.

I use Google Maps almost every day, and have for since it first came out. In all that time I have only been mislead twice, and they were rather insignificant errors. But for someone to actually drive into the water is truly bizarre. If it really was a Maps problem then it should be reproducible.
If it ends up being a Map error then they better get it fixed soon before cars with autopilot become ubiquitous!
Soylent Green takeoff: You get into your car and set the autopilot to take you to the grocery store but instead, it takes you to the rendering plant! Both you and the car get "recycled."

I drove into the ocean once. Had nothing to do with GPS.

I was going to see Pete follows GPS to the ends of the earth and back as long as they have a big booty

I was raised using Thomas Bros maps. Had a number of jobs in earlier years driving, delivery, cable tech.
Now use GPS to tell me where I am at any given time. I use my brain to tell me where to go next based on... 1) where I am ... 2) where am i trying to go.
Fucking GPS will have you driving in circles sometimes when you're really close to destination.

I still have an old LA County Thomas Bros laying around somewhere that's all dog eared and has highlighters and notes, circles, arrows, etc, all through it from my days of hitting job sites everywhere.
My offspring would look at that thing like a dial telephone, totally lost.

Lol I am too guilty... I will type in my address knowing how to get home and gps will always take me a new way... I always assumed its due to traffic... No... Not the case... Decided I would find out and didn't listen not too long ago... The short way was clear, no traffic... Stupid gps... Or stupid me... Lol whatever...

Happens all the time in Newport.
GPS sends them to 21 Oceanfront, but they're trying to get to Balboa.
