Come on Ego....we all love $5 a gallon gas.
And credit card interest rates above 24%....
We all just need to buy a little more lube so the screwing is less painful.

Democrats - except Bill Clinton
Tax & Spend
Inflation through the roof is a constant
Gas prices through the roof
Food prices through the roof
Taxes always increasing and always hitting us with new types of taxes
World leaders look at the USA as a bunch of pussies when a Democrat is on office
|
|
So many other great countries to live in, and yet they rather stay and constantly cry about it.
|
|
So many things thru the roof, but somehow we all seem to manage. How weird is that?
|
|
I'd rather manage without the reaming, thank you.

@Edmond.
Clinton is (and was) a classic tax and spend democrat.
HOWEVER, he had a problem, and that problem was:
Newt's (and Armey) Contract with America.
Democrats were pummeled in the '94 election, lost controll of BOTH houses, first time in what, 40 years at that point, something like that.
No, Clinton saw the writing on the wall and had to play ball, and was contained by that little Georgia bastard Gingrich.

Newt was a legend
When Congress got shit done and democrats where level headed

When the ship is sinking, complain about the color of the deck chairs…

Inflation has been declining for 10 consecutive months.
Almost every jobs report of the Biden administration has been a blockbuster.
The S&P 500 is in a bull market.
The national murder rate is declining so far this year.
But why let pesky facts get in the way of a preconceived silo bias born of congenital idiocy?

Wake the fuck up !

You're weak, you tax too much, you spend too much !
You make us the laughing stock of the world !

"Inflation has been declining for 10 consecutive months."
From a Biden 40 year high and still almost 6% annualized
"Almost every jobs report of the Biden administration has been a blockbuster."
Due almost wholly because 25 million men ages 25 to 40 don't even want to look for a job, aka low labor participation rate
"The S&P 500 is in a bull market."
Just this last week, because 7 stocks account for 94% of the move
"The national murder rate is declining so far this year."
From another 25 year high
Cherry pick those stats and you do you, HeyTheVillageIdiot

Here's the latest from the NY Times...
"Nearly a third of all shoplifting arrests in New York City last year involved just 327 people, the police said. Collectively, they were arrested and rearrested more than 6,000 times, Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said. Some engage in shoplifting as a trade, while others are driven by addiction or mental illness."
No bail... let them go. This is Progressive policies making the world a better place.
Then Mayor Eric Adam's is talking last week about what to do with the illegal migrants...
Mayor Eric Adams now wants to start paying every day New Yorkers to shelter migrants in their own homes – as the Big Apple struggles to find beds for the thousands of asylum seekers still flooding into the city.
Maybe they can publish the list of the 327 criminals to the migrants so they can earn room & board.

Economic Statistics are an interesting thing. You need to have context and step back and look at the before in relation to the now. Gas prices got from less than $3.00 a gallon to nearly $7.00. Then when it goes down to $5.00 and people are raving and patting themselves in the back for the nearly 30% reduction in price. They forget to tell you that the price went up 133%, so the bullshit 30% reduction is a drop in the bucket. But it sounds good when you try to sell it to people who don’t think for themselves. Inflation is down but still higher than before. When the actual numbers get better than Trumps numbers, then come talk to me. Don’t talk about the percentage improvement until that is improvement better than the pre-Covid statistics.

WeHo LGBTQ parade MA1 is hosting it
|

Oh so you're telling me the inflation REDUCTION Act did not reduce inflation?
So pumping another 1.2 trillion dollars into an over stimulated economy, that's about to go off the rails, did not actually reduce inflation?
Shocker!!! Who could've foreseen this!!!

I call even stevens................
The Government scams me.......I scam the Government.
|
|
Macroeconomics happens with a good deal of hysteresis, the inflation that the Biden administration has tamped down was due to a decade of low-interest easy money as the result of the Fed's quantitative easing (printing money) by the Obama administration to avert another 1929-style banking crisis, which fueled the hot stock market that Trump enjoyed and took credit for; but Trump's big tax cut for corporations also added additional inflationary pressures, but due to the continued low-interest rates given by the Federal bank - nothing happened during 45th's tenure, then COVID hit and all the government monies, etc. got the US to finally face the music at the start of the Biden administration, so far we've been pretty lucky with the interest rate hikes to slow this inflation and perhaps the US will nail a soft landing this year.
|
|
Goldman Sachs came out yesterday and said the risk of a recession is down to 25%, that we can get away with reducing inflation while maintaining very low jobless rates, and inflation has been cut in half since interest rates have been increased.
Considering what @DTFagent outlined, the Biden administration has done a very good job with the economy and controlling inflation. No other country comes even close to the strength and health of the US economy post-pandemic.

" One of the most Cowardly things ordinary people do,
is to shut their eyes to facts " ~ C.S. Lewis

Other than the second amendment there is no such thing as a reasonable gun law.
Amend the constitution if you want to make that a false statement.

Can wait for the blacks to get their reparations checks. Opens me up to a whole nother side hussle.

The Left's pandering to various social groups can be summed up in the following quote...
Thomas Sowell — 'When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.'

Mind elaborating a bit on this?

“Other than the second amendment there is no such thing as a reasonable gun law.
Amend the constitution if you want to make that a false statement.”
@wunanddun
So what does the Second Amendment’s “well-regulated militia” provision mean?
Just like with driving a car, to be well-regulated, gun owners should be licensed, should have training, and should be found to be competent to own and use a firearm. That is reasonable.
|
|
^ first thing I agree with you on
|
|
I think it is reasonable to say that to varying degrees most NRA members meet the criteria described by saying...
"should have training, and should be found to be competent to own and use a firearm. "
But at the state and Federal levels there is no licensing involved.
However let's again consider the group of people who possess guns AND commit the bulk of crimes of all types and that includes murder.
Oh yes that would be *CRIMINALS* and yes they call them criminals for a reason.
There should be no impediment placed on law abiding citizens in regards to the possession and use of firearms because criminals cant be steered to abide by...
"Should have a license, should have training, and should be found to be competent to own and use a firearm. "
|
|
@rabbit
Who gives a shit if “most” NRA members meet that criteria. The point is that we should be trying to prevent guns from getting into the wrong hands.
School shootings and mass murders are a uniquely American phenomena, especially at the rate of 2 mass shootings per day. It’s embarrassing that politicians bow to the gun lobby rather than protect our citizens and especially our children.

Start by capping the bad guys. No more bs prison terms just one between the eyes problem solved.
Wanna fix drunk drivers? Ban cars is the libs fix.
The problem lies will people not tools.

We all know the Dems and Repubs are far apart on a lot of issues. That is nothing new.
What IS more recent is the unwillingness of the 2 sides to make any compromises to actually get SOMETHING FUCKING DONE on immigration, guns, crime, and the way defense contractors get to keep massively screwing us over on our national security budget.
With Congressional districts drawn so safely that only about 16% of Congressmen/women have any chance of NOT winning re-election, most of them can just keep getting re-elected by bitching about the other side and how horrible they are. Meanwhile, very little actually gets done, with a few notable exceptions. We did need a huge commitment to infrastructure after decades of neglect, and it was about freaking time Medicare could finally negotiate for drug prices, like the VA has been doing for decades.
Yes, the border is a problem, but neither Trump nor Biden made people want to leave awful places and situations to come here. Those people already wanted that, and we have half a dozen countries to the south of us that are going up in flames. The border patrol is already 3 times the size it was under Reagan and Bush-1 and it is never enough. That is not Trump's fault or Biden's. It is just a reality. We cannot ignore our asylum laws, but we can't process these huge numbers of people either, at least not with the resources available. Some kind of compromise needs to be reached, and it has to happen in Congress.
Conservatives want to deny racism is even a problem and liberals seem to think they can fix systemic racism by discriminating against whites and Asians in college admissions and in hiring. Both are obviously wrong.
People WITH money are paying some of the lowest federal taxes in 50 years, and people WITHOUT money seem to all think they should get a subsidized 3-bedrooom house and get to retire at age 55. Both sides talk about freedom of speech but then try to censor the other side (triggered libs label everything 'racist' or 'homophobic' or 'hate speech' and conservatives want to legislate don't say gay or trans unless the neocons are trying to control who you partner with or have sex with). Meanwhile, both sides get most of what they want at budget time and the deficit just gets bigger and bigger so the 2 big parties can keep buying votes.
98% of this forum is the same way. Bunch of guys flaming each other. Pointless!

Back in my day.... we used to complain about the price of pootang on this site now it's mostly about who's fav politician is more corrupt.

"Inflation has been declining for 10 consecutive months."
Excuse me but that is yet again a topper to they stupidest things hey1mnotverybright has said.
You see the rate of inflation may have slowed but it has not reduced.... prices are still going up and your effective income is still being reduced.
Leave it to you to try to put a positive note on things costing us more monthly... We are sooo lucky ... last month prices increased by 13 cents this month only 11 cents.... prices still increased DUMBASS!!!

It means that you don't read very well...
A healthy lifestyle requires exercise and a good diet... The right to fruits and vegetables shall not be infringed.
The second part of it stands on its own and prescribes that a person can without whim of the government prevent one from having possession of fruits and vegetables.
You would argue that the first part is integral and limiting of the right... I'd argue differently...thus if you want it more clear amend the constitution.
I stand by my statement.
|
|
I also never said anythibg training and licensing ... personally don't have a problem with it.... but also do not think there are many cases where we can constitionally preven a law abiding citizen from owning a firearm... or prevent them from a concealed carry permit.
Not advocating for people to do anything just stating my opinion on 2A.
|
|
1inchdickanddumb setting aside the fact that global inflation following a pandemic is a historically consistent eventuality which no one man can prevent but only repair, it is abundantly clear that you have not read the second amendment. Presumably because reading is not really your thing.
You see there is this part about a well regulated militia which originalists suddenly lose their religion on when you point that part out to them.
You know what an appropriate synonym for regulation is? Control.
As in not letting men like you with penis agenesis anywhere near a concealed weapon.
No parent wants to lose a child because you are anatomically incorrect.
|
|
What's a penis got to do with it?
Cant he just identify a competent gun owner as long his pronouns are fully/loaded...?
|
|
Schools should take down the "gun free zone" signs and have armed response.
Stop school shootings luckily split.
