Ya hear so much of this going on, I'm sorry.

An unforeseen AC clog causing tens of thousands in repairs that is being immediately repaired sure sounds like a slumlord to me.

Ask to speak to your landlord's insurance company. Flooding and mold remediation is normally covered on most if not all homeowners insurance policies.
The insurance company should pay your moving expenses for storage and for a hotel until the remediation is completed.
Ask your landlord for the name of his insurance company, he may not know that he can file a claim. If he is uncooperative then talk to one of the workers who brought in the dehumidifiers, or the workers doing the mold work, ask for the project manager and speak to whoever is in charge of the remediation to find out who the insurance company is.
Then speak to the claims manager with the insurance copany.
At the very least you may have claims against both your landlord and the insurance company. Think of the liability like it was a car accident between you and your landlord.
You may need to talk to a lawyer or legal aid to help.
Also it it is a health and safety issue and you could talk to your local city government to help.
Once again your moving expenses and your hotel bill is normally a covered event when flooding due to plumbing breaking, with your AC or wherever in the building happens.

One more thing, if a claim has been filed you should not have to pay anything out of your own pocket for hotel or moving/storage.

Your lease was up and you had to move anyway, right? What did the water leak do besides cause you great inconvenience that hopefully you’re getting reimbursed for?

A Landlord Policy (If your slumlord even has one) would not cover the tenant's move or need to stay in alternate accommodations due to a covered loss. The Renters Policy, on the other hand, would cover your need for accommodations.

I always wrote into my leases that renters were required to get AND keep current renters insurance,
Covers all sorts of things including theft etc.
Plus it's dirt cheap.
No reason for a tenant not to get a policy, none.

Well update:
Got kicked out and evicted by constable. I had put down money on a place but just found out that I wasn’t approved. Now we ( my son, our dog, and i) are literally on the street. So I failed

WW - Sometimes life just throws shit at people for no good reason. Not karma, just random bad luck. And I know it can feel like it's piling up (possibly because it is).
Anyway, sometimes you just have to face the harsh reality in front of you head on and do what you need to in order to push through it. Hang in there. I'll think some good thoughts for you and a few other people I know who are also struggling right now.
