We were fishing about a mile off the shore of Malibu when this woman on a paddleboard passed us, say hi and continue on her way. The boat a couple of hundred yards from us is hooked up on something big. A few hours later were coming back into Marina Del Rey we see that boat at the scales, they have a 270 lb mako hanging on the scale.
I caught a 50 lb thrasher shark that day.

Pretty much the same number of shark attacks every year worldwide
Naked is better than wetsuit, which makes you look like a tasty seal.
More likely to be struck by lightning while being eaten by a hyena than be attacked by a shark, lol

I've actually driven a sailboat at night in a storm that was struck by lightning at the mast head while I was being bombarded by flying fish .
An example of the craziest shit you see in yacht racing.
All the boats instruments went dark just before followed by a simultaneous huge flash and the sound of a bomb going off as fish start flying everywhere. Driving the boat blind from the flash in 30 knots on the wind with my ears ringing for the next minute was insane until a fish hit me upside the head.

Of all the predators you are liable to face in this life actual sharks in the ocean are the least of your problems.

I pic came up on my FB feed the other day. It was at the Worlds Fair or something like that, in 1964.
At the top it asked, What is the most dangerous animal on this planet ?
Look at the bottom of the mirror it said, You're looking at it.

I saw the video of the dude getting attacked and ate by the shark that was some really fucked up. I heard his father watched that unfold damn that’s heartbreaking.
