Republicans might have a chance if Chris Sununu and Larry Hogan were running, but at this point, Biden will easily win. Hopefully he can drop Harris, but that's going to happen.
But even if Republicans had a viable candidate, the risk of the next administration filling two Supreme Court seats would justify not electing a Republican no matter how strong they are. The current Supreme Court is going to encourage people on the fence to vote Democrat. A large percentage of Republican voters don't agree with what the conservative Court is doing. There are too many reasons why Republicans will lose in 2024.

I prefer that Biden not run because I think he's too old, but I'd vote for him over any of the Republican candidates right now. I don't like Chris Christy, even though he's the best of the horrible pool of Republican candidates.

As for China: you do realize that they hold nearly a trillion dollars of US debt and the US is the biggest consumer of Chinese goods. Unless they were suicidal, they will make sure that their biggest debtor and consumer is in good health. Waging war on the US would cause a default on their loans and would kill their economy, so it doesn’t seem logical nor plausible, does it?
So be more realistic. China will never attack the US unless we attack them. Since we are dependent on their goods, the US will never attack them either. By being a part of NATO, else can still wield power/influence indirectly in case they attempt to take over Taiwan. That’s another benefit of NATO.
