Since no one else has responded to your post, I'll be the first.
I would suggest a number of things - principally, find out your credit score.
There are a number of places where you can get that for FREE once every 12 moths (required to be provided by any of the big 3).
Be up front with a landlord:
"hey, what is your guidelines for renting" what credit score minimum must I have?
Any smart landlord will have a WRITTEN internal guideline of what their minimums must be - otherwise, especially in CA, they open themselves up for discriminatory lawsuits.
If you know the property you are interested in criteria, then you know up or down the likelihood of getting the apartment you want. If you are outside the range they want - ASK them what they would reccomend (if you could improve on some aspect of the criteria, or a complex they would reccomend)
Bottom line, go in educated, think like your landlord would.

Credit karma and Experian basic will provide live credit scores and what's going on with your credit usage.

I would speculate she may not have all the things landlords want and so she's looking here.
I'm not putting anyone down i's just that credit things happen and if you are below the landlords mark you will never talk to them. So you don't get the chance to ask. It can really be a bitch.
However if you come here illegally you get all the help you need. Go for that. Even SBA grants now preferentially go to those here illegally. No shit.

Your right! Even the homeless are getting free apartments.
I worked 100% through Covid and I didn’t qualify for a single Covid stimulus, and people sitting on their asses at home get everything free.
I’m irritated now, i’m gonna schedule a massage for tomorrow 🥰💰

That's a lot of work and hardship to become homeless to get free benies. I'd rather stay in the grind working my ass off to have what I have.
As far as immigrants go, we should put them to work for the benies the get.

Thank you kindly for all the good advice. You guys are awesome. and I haven't checked my score in a minute cause I don't know why but it's like it's gonna be bad forever so I gave up on checking. Anyways I have an appointment to go look at a place on Monday hopefully it goes well but I have a dump full of possible rats and roaches and someone else's stuff from floor to ceiling as a for sure spot cause a friend of mine offered it. So I'm just praying and trying to save money up til the 1st. Come see me you don't know what your missing. I promise you that. Xoxoxo thank you for your advice everyone. It means a lot!!!
