BTW - she is 51% African, 40% European, and 9% Asian or Native American
|
|
You're not serious!
Condoleezza Rice is responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent Iraqis.
She was the lead the effort on the WMD bs narrative
|
|
If Cornel West makes it to the ballot then I'm voting for him.
He's articulate, and he's running against the establishment which doesn't represent anyone but the corporations, the elites and the 1% (both parties).
Cornel West for president.
|
|
She will never run, so there's that.
Tim Jared Polis Scott Galojan Hadzovic.........
Black White Rep Dem Female AND an embezzler to boot plus did I say HOT?
|
|
@ Cornel West
Racist + Marxist + sucker at the University teat
Why not just say Idi Amin?
|
|
^ her, like Colin Powell, were just carrying the standard for GWB. They both understood that personal views aside, once the boss says, "Thanks for your input, now here is what we are going to do!", they get onboard and carry the party line.
And if memory serves me correct, that whole shit storm was a by-product of some mysterious report about the existence of WMD's in the first place, similar in my mind to the more recent "Steele Dossier" about Russian collusion. If it worked once, why not try it again?
I seriously doubt that if it had been totally up to her she would have invaded Iraq. But just my opinion.

My preferred candidates for president are either unelectable or too fucking old. Instead, I will give a prediction for the HX right wing:
If Trump gets completely kicked to the curb where he can't run or is dead, it will open the floodgates for people who have been standing by for years but are total pussies who never wanted to be on his radar as someone to attack.
Of those, I would guess both the MAGA crowd and the donor class would rally around and support someone like Paul Ryan who was first elected as a Tea Party darling. Since leaving the House he has pretty much laid low and kept off social and mass media. He is a board member at Fox News, but his name is never spoken on air because, I assume, he doesn't want Trump to go on a Truth Social Tirade against him.
Once Trump is completely out of the picture, I would be pretty shocked if his name didn't "suddenly" come up as a viable candidate. The problem is, when that finally happens it will be too late for 2024 election. I would be really surprised if he doesn't run in 2028 with huge backing by wall street and deep pocket republicans.

Cornel West. Understands the ills of Americans better than others and has the ability to unite working people instead of dividing us like Dems and Republicans do now.
|
|
i like rice...she really wanted to be the NFL commissioner...kinda wish she made it. might not have had them licking BLM boots a few years ago.
i liked a tuff talking nikki haley from her time and experience with the UN...not so much with her blasting trump...i guess they all will have those times of wavering that we have to just pick em anyway.
but if it's a situation where you decided Desantis is NOT for you and seem ok with the DEMS getting all three branches? we have a problem...i kinda suspect you lean more DEM than you think do or pretend on the site
|
|
was kinda hoping for a nikki VP followed by 8 years as pres.
unfortunately, DeSantis had the perfect runway...and he started fucking himself with balls at the net
he even got to SEE how it would play out in the 22 election and he still did it...so the fucker deserves to sit out 2024. lindsey fucking graham also?? WTF??
|
|
^ well I can see how you might think that, but I am not so much leaning Dem as I am oppossed to extremism.
|
|
I''d love to see on the Republican side Vivek Ramaswamy. On the Democrat side Robert Kennedy Jr, but only if he gets a speech chip that makes him sound like JFK...
|
|
i'd have to have some examples of this extremism that would warrant you voting for the left to have control again...the next time they get it...might not be so lucky.
THOUGH??? you might be ok with that

Joe Exotic

saying trump or biden is not an answer to this
|
|
Whoa. DeSantis is too far off the hook? Why? Because the MSM says so? Because he's opposed to the genuinely off-the-hook policies of the Left like CRT in education and unrestricted immigration? He's pretty popular in Florida, which has a net influx of tax payers, unlike New York and California.
DeSantis, Rice, Haley, Ramaswamy, it doesn't matter. Once the Dems started accusing even Larry Elder of being a White Supremacist, it's been pretty clear that there is no limit to how low or absurd they will go in their attempts to smear a conservative opponent.
|
|
well he was a fucking moron for a bit...probably makes it so he couldn't beat biden in 2024....he already got a glimpse of what would happen and still did it
|
|
Sigh, WMD - every single "intellegence" agency said there was - but bush gets the blame, fine.
He had them (used them against his own people) - where did they go? Iran probbably in the run up to the war.
Yes, I would vote for Condi Rice.
I also like:
J.C. Watts (remember his rebuttal to Clinton? a masterpeice.
Tim Scott -
Larry Elder
Thomas Sowell (yeah, I know, too old)
Walter Williams
The list goes on.
Yeah, I'm only listing Blacks - just to screw with the lefties here.
I would LOVE to see any one of them run, none I think would want to, they make too much money in the private sector & aren't interested in power like their democrat counterparts.
|
|
but i would still pick him VS any dem running
|
|
Vivek was doing pretty well til he got sidetracked on his 9/11 answer.
He's the purest free market guy running and hates the woke agenda
Good for him
I was semi-serious about my first answer
We need a hot babe, doesn't matter what color.....just needs to be easy on the eyes
Tired of seeing these disgusting old-as-fuck pols
Tim Scott's general demeanor with Jared Polis' social outlook
And, did I forget to say hot babe?
What about OP?
You running?

^ See, that is what I mean by extremism - if I don't want to vote for, or speak kindly of a particular candidate that is Republican then that automatically means I must be a Democrat! If you are not with us ("the right") then you are against us ("the left"). This is the kind of rhetoric that is driving the destructive wedge between us all.
I am now Independent and vote for the person I believe is best for the job REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL PARTY OR AFFILIATION! I have a brain and I exercise my God given right to exercise it instead of being a sheep and participating in gang warfare.
Jan 6 was a horrendous stain on our history. The most serious assault on the freedom of all Americans since the civil war. DJT's complicit actions were despicable, and criminal! Suggesting that he would pardon the participants is de-facto proof! The fact that only a couple of Republicans would come out and condemn this reprehensible act is all the proof that I need to surmise that the Republican Party is willing to embrace autocracy - and I want no part of that!
I did not leave the Republican Party because I found something better or that my basic values had changed, I left because they drove me away with their extremism. They are a bunch of sick bastards! The only problem is, the Democrats aren't much better!
I have found a comfortable station in life; I can be proud of my ethnicity and background without being a racist or a bigot. I am not ashamed to be white, but I honestly wish that every American could say the same about their ethnicity, heritage, or sexual preference and not made to feel inferior because white people of power have made then feel less than adequate as a human being.
|
|
^ and then maybe again that was the product of one too many glasses of wine!
|
|
Uhm, Marisa, if you are referring to my comment, then I'm afraid that it is you who are jumping to conclusions, since I wasn't referring to you at all when I mentioned Dems. Give me some credit, please. I've read your posts and I have at least some idea of where you stand politically. Only my first paragraph was directed at you.

@RicoSuave21
I should stop using the ^ sign - I seem to always get it out of sequence. My comments were meant for @InSearchofStarfish. I hadn't even read you comment when I was drafting my reply to him.

No worries. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm probably going to get some hate for this one because of the demographic here but AOC.
I tend to agree with her policies, for starters, but if nothing else she's one of the most pro-sex-work politicians on the hill as far as I know.
|

I actually hoped that Colin Powell was going to run for President on the Republican ticket instead of Bush. Unfortunately he did not run and his service in the Bush Administration did nothing to enhance his reputation.
I also like Condoleezza Rice but considering the positions she held in the Bush administration and the predictable problems that Bush had in the way he handled Afghanistan and Iraq it would give me second thoughts about her as a President. In addition I have seen her on TV at this years Pebble Beach Pro Am and she looks and moves like someone that is much older than 69. I would be concerned that we might have another Biden in terms of mental acuity. Of course if she decided to run she might prove me wrong.

i'm sorry...it doesn't work that way, not anymore.
i guess if this is a fairyland vacuum where you think there are no consequences you can spout it to the high heavens...you're not the only one that is playing that game here on this site
i didn't know being right of center or left of center...both of which will mostly vote down party line is extreme? i still NEED to know what the extreme policies are?
kinda channeling MA with that used to be a republican, but they are sick bastards now thing...he definitely has some major white guilt going
sick bastards? basic values have changed? lets have some examples
how do you feel about the biden admin? obama admin? i think you shared a bit of bush
we know you don't like trump...so don't talk about him and waste anyone's time

On the WMDS in Iraq - Vice President Dick Cheney had his reps at the intelligence agencies, over and over again. (Bush had made Cheney point-man on national security after 9-11, largely freezing out Secretary of State Colin Powel). Cheney's reps (like Scooter Libby) leaned on the analysts constantly, telling them - -
that they better not be responsible for another 9-11
that is there was even a 1% chance of WMDs in Iraq, they better conclude the WMDs were there
their careers were threatened repeatedly
Then, lo and behold, the intelligence community told the White House what Cheney said the White House wanted to hear.
So, the GWB administration was really just presenting their own bullshit that they got other government employees to sign off on.
Vice President Cheney, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, and Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz had already been advocating (in policy papers and in lobbying) for years to establish a permanent US military presence in an oil-rich Middle Eastern country, in the interest of preserving American access to precious petroleum. They thought Iraq would be our oil future in the Middle East.

Mitch McConnell vs. Diane Feinstein to demonstrate the effect of the Peter Principle.
|

I like many conservatives will not support any candidate who is not 100% committed to gutting the Washington swamp and establishment. The corruption is deep -- intelligence, state, DOJ. Anyone who isn't committed to ending the nightmare we have been living for the last 10-15 years gets ZERO support.
Someone said Paul Ryan -- he's ass deep in the Washington muck...he's the first one that should be sent to the gallows.
|
|
@YellowB2
That is why I voted for DJT in the first place; I wanted someone who would "drain the swamp in D.C." But I was not prepared for that someone to literally destroy any chance at bipartisan politics and set America back for the next 20 years. The cure was much worse than the disease! We would have better off if we would have never heard of DJT.

@InsearchofStarfish
My disdain for the Republican Party is NOT because of their policies - I actually favor most of the Republican policies. My problem is the way they act!

A presidential election should not be seen as how you want others to perceive who you as an individual are because of whom you voted for.
One must look at the bigger national and international consequences of who ends up controlling the most powerful nation in the world for the next four to eight years.
Do you want someone who appoints cabinet positions because of personal loyalty or one based on merit?
Do you want someone who likes to hobnob with other dictators and authoritarians and is afraid of criticizing the perpetual president of Russia, or keeps a letter from Kim like a Momento from a lover?
Do you want someone who doesn't know the history of international relationships, alliances, wars, etc; and get's their impression of the world from Fox "news"?
Do you want someone who sees the presidency as an avenue for self enrichment or family members and friends?
Do you want someone who has openly try to dismantle the independent governmental agencies like the DOJ, EPA, FTC, etc that protects us from the misuse of power?
Do you want someone who views the office of the US presidency as a shield from incarceration or prosecution from past misdeeds?
Do you want someone who wants to flame the fire that will keep the American public divided into two camps?
Do you want someone who rolled back years of small victories to slow down climate change and allowed more fossil fuel drilling, reversal of emission standards, reduced policing powers of regulatory agencies?
Do you want someone who wants and did try to dismantle NATO, the single international organization that has allowed Europe to have the longest period of peace in history?
I can go on, but I just want everyone to take a step back and look honestly at what hindsight we can learn from the 45th presidential tenure and the present. I don't look at an election as personification of who I am, but I look at the person who will direct the US for the next 4 years and where we as a nation should strive for.
There are no perfect candidates, but one should make a strategic and weighted choice for the future betterment of the US and the world, because four short years can make a difference of a lifetime.

so much of continuing this conversation

Yes, as usual this blog has gone off the rails.
So, who else might be an acceptable (notice I didn't necessarily say "good") candidate for both the Dems and Repubs in 2024?
If Biden actually runs I am fairly confident he is only doing so to hand over the reigns to the VP almost immediately if he wins. Will Harris be his running mate in 2024?
2024 is going to be one of the craziest elections we will see in our lifetime.
|
|
If Harris was President, she would make biden look like Einstein.
|
|
that's if you guys actually think they are the ones pulling all the strings here
|
|
I'd second Jon Stewart's presidency.
|
|
If only Ross Perot were still alive! And only in his 60's
|

i'll take it...the reality is with what we know today...he'd be just as upsetting to the applecart
desantis with tuff guy take today...kinda what it's going to take to be elected

Even dead, PeeWee is better than everyone else named in this blog
|
|
Tim Scott actually sounds reasonable.
|
|
Both parties are off the deep end, for generations with the left, with Trump, many have joined their across the isle brothers.
Would I vote for anyone on fhe Democrat ticket?
This is why I am a registered libertarian.
Kennedy would get booted out of today's DNC.
