You beat me to it. I was just listening to KNX Radio interviewing the LA Times music reporter.
Taylor Swift does a three-hour show and plays forty-four songs.
Taylor Swift is the Carol King and Joni Mitchell of this generation.
Taylor Swift is the sound track for the women around here. Every memory has a Taylor Swift song attached to it.
I think that Taylor Swift is a pain in the ass, but I want to know what Eulogy, TomTraubert, and SeymourButz think.

Follow up.
I've seen hundreds of concerts in all types of music and this was by far the best show I've ever seen. Performance, choreography, pyrotechnics and just the level of effort to make it work is just amazing. Taylor went 3.5 hours, over 40 songs with no break outside of chatting with the audience. I don't know how she can keep up this pace for another year. I've never seen another performer have the crowd in her hand like her, it was very cultish seeing people singing and crying and screaming, certainly the loudest I've ever seen. Someone in my party was buying tix for the next show 10 songs into our show. I would consider going again in LA if it was not so expensive, I spent a few thousand on this one and that's enough.
I thought I was all edgy or out there with my shiny jacket but I was nothing, people really went all out with era costumes and dresses which I did not know was a thing. I would guess a 95% female audience and a good reminder that SoCal has some really beautiful ladies.
Another note, SoFi is awesome, it's huge and very well thought out. Ballmer is building a Clipper arena right next door and all that will eventually be great but the transportation infrastructure is just not ready for that level of crowd. The show was over at 11:30ish and I did not get home until 3:00 because we could not get out.

Thank you, notsofast, for reporting on what happened at the Taylor Swift concert. You tell a story from a planet that I am not sure that I want to live on. The fact that the audience was ninety-five percent women and that each of them paid several thousand dollars to attend is something to think about.

the whole crowd singing thing has become pretty big...especially with social media
i think some of the songs written and made are meant for this type of show
i mentioned the only time i remember being in that type of thing...it was the kinks at the US FEST...singing LOLA...it was pretty surreal with the big crowd
AND a few hours later after me talking about the kinks...they had a member DIE.
this has happened a few times this year of talking about someone and they die within a few days

anyway...thought the crowd thing was big with BTS....Tswift is taking it to a new level and might just extend this series to a 2billion dollar gross
