You're speculating on the circumstances of the incident.
He may have committed a crime of passion, where he comes home and finds her in the bed with someone else.
He may have mistaken her for an intruder in the middle of the night.
She may have been suffering from a loathsome terminal disease and he wanted to end her suffering.
She may have come at him with a knife and it was self defense.
She may have come at him with a knife BECAUSE SHE FOUND OUT HE WAS BANGING CHICKS HERE ON HX.
There's no way to know at this point, until the indictment and other information on the case is made public.
