God bless Theodore Roosevelt. He's my favorite president.
He's the reason we have all the national parks and the national forests.
Yosemite is like a different planet. Thank you Theodore Roosevelt.

An interesting fact about Theodore Roosevelt.
He loved hunting and he would hunt every season, and he establish United States Forest Service (USFS) for the sole purpose of persevering parks so he can continue hunting haha.
Kind of a selfish reason, but it worked out in the end for the best of all and now we have parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon to name a few.

And later..........
“No troops could have behaved better than the colored soldiers had behaved so far; but they are, of course peculiarly dependent upon their white officers,” Roosevelt wrote in his war memoir “Rough Riders.”
And again..........
“Thus the thirteen colonies, at the outset of their struggle for independence, saw themselves surrounded north, south, and west, by lands where the rulers and the ruled were of different races, but where rulers and ruled alike were hostile to the new people that was destined in the end to master them all,” Roosevelt wrote in his book, “The Winning of the West: From the Alleghenies to the Mississippi."

I actually like Teddy, been to his childhood home in NYC on 20th St.
Always wanted to hit Sagamore too but a little off the beaten path for me.
Anyway, man of his times racist for sure.
