Bud Lite has always been related to skunk piss.
All lite beers are shit.
The Mexicans love it.
They say hey butthead ya want a beer?
While they hold out a Bud Lite.
I say ya got any.
|
|
Marissa....if Bud Light is looking out for its fiduciary duty, they would have avoided politics and political issues and just sold beer. Sales are down 25+% weekly and they lost their #1 ranking and probably will never get it back.
They obviously have NO clue about their customer base and audience. Why would you 'partner' with a lightning rod person? Might not be a good idea to have Osama Bin Laden as a spokesperson, might not be a good idea to have a KKK clansman as your spokesperson. Probably not a good idea to have Jeffrey Epstein as a spokesperson.

I was hating on Buttwiper beer before it was cool.
|
|
What purpose did it serve to partner with a cross dresser influencer?
Why should we subscribe to that lol?

I don’t drink bud light because they’re like 4th on the list of light beer but if someone brought it to the golf course then I’m drinking it. I thought people were against cancel culture?
|
|
I drink anything with alcohol in it.
I can careless about what anyone thinks about what I’m dinking. I don’t buy bud-light, but I’ll drink it over and over a again if if it’s cold and being offered to me.
Salute 🫡

lapierre....
First of all, reread the TOS, idiot, before you make any further comments.
Parents are fighting for the right to know what is happening with their offspring and to know what is being taught.
Schools are not necessarily the place where some of these topics should be taught, but also, schools are often not teaching age appropriate information either.
Most conservatives are fed up with the government pushing farther into our freedoms, rights, and ability to just live our lives.
The schools are failing miserably in teaching reading, math, science, etc. Maybe they should spend far more time teaching what parents really want to be taught, instead of spending time teaching things that are probably better taught at home, church, etc.

I no longer drink beer but when I did my three favorite were.
1. COLD
2 WET
3. Free

This is not about Bud Light per se. It's about individuals having a real say in the direction of this country.
We are taught the voting booth is where actions can be taken. Well, I present to you our current status of Congress and our presidential candidates in recent years, which are all elected positions.
US culture is built around commence and money, nothing else. Therefore, if you really want to take action, it has to come from how you spend your money and where.
In this particular case, you don't like Bud Light's marketing campaign, don't drink it. You didn't like Gillettes "toxic masculinity" campaign, don't shave with it. You didn't appreciate Target offering tranny clothing for young people, don't shop there. Flipside, you support their agenda, by all means, use their products. They will get the message loud and clear during their quarterly earnings.
Our spending power is all we got, especially when trying to combat ESG, CEI and other social credit score systems investment groups like Blackrock, Morgan, Vanguard, etc are using to yield their influence and power.

This debate cracks me up. People who would never drink Bud Light coming to their defense. people who think it’s a good beer deciding
not to drink it anymore. You’re all a bunch of fucking idiots.
It’s a shitty beer made by morons who made a bad bet and are paying the price. This is the most delicious this beer has ever been or will be

This wasn't a TV ad that typically runs when school is out like cartoons. K-12 can't drink anyway so this ad had nothing to go with "grooming."
In retrospect, no doubt that they screwed up, but I am just surprised that we are so sensitive to anything and everything that people say that we don't agree with. Seems childish to me.
Does anyone really think that it was Bud Light's intention to actively promote and encourage being gay? Of course not, they just didn't realize that so many people would be butt hurt by that ad. There was no malicious intent involved.
But really, I'm not going to complain much - my favorite beer is now cheaper than it has been in 20 years! Haters - Keep up the good work! Now if we can only get Fireball to do the same!
|
|
jazz - actually agree 100, well cept for the idiot part.
i tried to write it so that we would not have the usual progs vs gops name calling threads..
schools are not for social programming.
schools are for learning to read / write / math / art / sport / sciences / trades

Nobody with taste buds drinks Bud lite for the taste.
|
|
Sorry, lapierre for the idiot comment. However, you have been here since 2009. I guess I figured you would clearly know the 5 things you cannot say....if you don't reread the TOS.
|
|
@NickSgv
Actually, the main reason I like it is because I will get bloated (and stop drinking) before I get drunk!
Coors Lite - now that tastes like an attempt to recycle sewer water!
|
|
The funny thing is, Modelo Escpecial replaced Bud Light as the most popular beer. Modelo is owned by Anheuser Busch, the same company that ownes Bud.
So much for anri-woke vitue signaling.
|
|
I agree with Jazz on this one. If Bud had been on their game, they would've realized that this particular marketing campaign was liable to rub the market share they've spent years cultivating (cowboys, truck drivers, construction workers, etc.) the wrong way. It's nothing to me, I hate Bud Lite, Coors Lite and Miller Lite with equal fervor.
Reminds me of an old favorite joke:
Q: How is American beer like having sex in a canoe?
A: It's fucking close to water...
I'll show myself out...

|
|
bwana....you are only partly correct.
AB does NOT own Modelo U.S. operations. Read the attached article.
Modelo's ownership varies in the US and outside the country. The beer maker is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev in countries outside of the United States. However, within the US, it is owned by the New York-based beverage conglomerate Constellation Brands.

NEWSFLASH
All the beer companies sponsor the LGBT community.
The LGBT community has a lot of disposable income and spend a lot on alcohol.
You wouldn't be maximizing returns for your shareholders if you didn't market to this community

What dumbass gives a shit about who is advertising a product? Sheep, that's who. There is not one "celebrity " that could ever convince me to buy a product because I don't know that person. Why would I take advice from someone I don't know?
|
|
Anheuser-Busch InBev
Only owns about 500 beer brands. 🍺 so they don't care which one ya buy.
Bud light is still skunk piss just like Corona. AB owned also
|
|
I don't think the issue or beef was with most of the LBGTQ community. I think the issue was a trans issue and her (Mulvaney) marketing to people on Tik Tok who are not "old".
|
|
Trying to rack my brain to remember anything that I've chosen not to buy because of a stance by a company and the only thing I could think of was Jimmy Johns because Jimmy or whatever the owners name is, is a big game hunter and I do not agree with that at all. That being said, if that was my only option, I'm buying that sammy from him.
The Colin Kaepernick thing certainly did not drive me away from the NFL even though I disagree with taking the knee, the Target BS does not bother me, Kid Rock says some shit that I don't agree with but I'll still see him play and if Bud Light was my beer there is no way I'd stop drinkin that.
|
|
Why is everyone losing their mind over the boycott? I dont care either way, but products have been boycotted over real and perceived political stances for years. Why is this boycott such a big deal? My guess is its because the boycott has been so successful. Liberals drum up lists of companies and people to boycott all the time: Cancel Culture. This is simply the shoe being on the other foot.
Companies spend billions of dollars building a brands image. Thats why ad agencies and top marketers get paid the big bucks. When you f*ck up the image then there are consequences. Theres a reason why companies spend millions on a Super Bowl ad: ads & marketing work.

"for yet another reason to hate somebody else, or worse, hate an entire group of people."
This sounds like the victim mentality playcard. Bud light has a right to promote and sell their beer not push the alphabet agenda. That is the bottom line.
Corporations are trying to use their money, influence and power to push agendas the public does not support the LGBTQ is one of them. That must be stopped at all cost.

What happened to the Budweiser frogs?
Spuds Mackenzie?
"WHASSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPP????"
Why is everyone so goddamn serious all the time now. You have to be aligned with the cause, whatever it is, or you're outcast. No one can laugh anymore, Hollywood won't even make a comedy anymore for fear of losing millions when it gets "cancelled."
What happened to Budweiser? The big Black Rock type financial companies insist on this new woke ideology. And they are the BIG institutional investors -- the ones who run the mutual funds and our 401k's. And if you're not a woke company in alignment with their communist social viewpoint, then they will not buy your stock -- no matter how good its numbers are.
Budweiser was backed into a corner here. Either publicly accept and market the gay and trans agenda, or lose their commie institutional investors -- and their stock will take a giant shit during the big sell off....
Decisions decisions...have the stock price and the brand destroyed by marketing a gay agenda and lose all of our longtime customers...or don't...and have our company's stock driven right into the fucking toilet by Black Rock...
And the rest my friends is history!
"WHASSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPP????"
|
|
I think timing had a lot to do with it. The timing of that ad and anti-trans sentiment. A few years ago maybe no one would have noticed or cared. I sure as hell didn't.
|

But Miller Lite “Tastes Great. Less Filling”
|
|
"Honestly they are getting exactly what their own VP of Marketing wanted. They did not want the "Frat culture and Red Necks" to buy it, they stopped and it was a chunk of their business. It just became a meme, became popular and after like 4 or 5 weeks buying habits changed."
This. Market to whomever you want. But why do you have to put down another segment of the population in order to do it? And don't claim to be in favor of diversity and inclusivity, and then turn around and deliberately exclude a group of people. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Aaand .... Dylan Mulvaney? The blatant narcissist and attention-seeker? The person who is openly telling young people not to trust their parents? Trust Dylan instead? The person who is an open caricature of femininity? THAT's whom Bud Lite wants as a spokesperson? Can you blame people for not supporting Bud Lite? Again, live your life however you want. But don't try to turn young people against parents, especially when it has nothing to do with your product. People just want to have a freaking beer. They don't want to be indoctrinated.

Why doesn't Bud Light get a real biological woman to represent them? I like women, not dudes pretending to be women and invading women's space.
I did drink Bud Light because it was one of the two cheapest light beers at Costco. Bud Light has always tasted like shit and made me vomit after I drank it but now I vomit when I look at the can before I drink it, so I had to switch. Now I drink the other cheap beer (Coors Light) which my liberal woke friends in college would never drink because of the conservative views of its founder.
Liberals are famous for their boycotts, etc. Today I read that many long-time Tesla drivers are now turning away from the car (even though they love it) because of Musk's political views. Why is it such a big deal if anti-woke people use their hard-earned money to buy what they prefer?
I am a great supporter real women, not biological men trying to take over women's space.
|
|
biological men trying to take over women's space.
Also known as pro life conservatives.
|
|
^Agreed. There are many forms of misogyny. Personally, I am an "independent " and disagree with many positions of the far right Republicans. I also disagree with many positions of Democrats.
|
|
However, btw, there are many prolife women, too.
|
|
Somebody, just bring me a brew
And, a sammy too.
All this beer talk makes me mighty thirsty
If I got a choice?
Pacifico
Urquell
Paulaner (lived near the brewery)
Sometimes a Doppelbock or Hefeweizen, if the mood is there
San Miguel
Hell, I'll drink a Moretti, Kingfisher, Singha or Peroni
Not so much Bud or Coors Lite
Sidenote: in Bavaria, they deliver liter bottles to your doorstep in a plastic case.....just like the milk man in the old days. Always thought that was pretty cool.
|
|
I first tried Bud Light 40 years ago and realized it was garbage, and never bothered to drink it since, even though we used to have a couple of kegs of it at squadron events when I was in the Air Force (I preferred San Miguel, which was the brew of preference when TDY at Clark Air Base in the Philippines). A-B blew their hand when they felt compelled to pander to the tranny weirdo crowd, oh well. A-B has plenty of other crappy beer brands in their portfolio, they will simply phase Buttwipe out and peddle something else. In fact, I saw Busch Lite at Smart and Final last week, anything with the Busch moniker tends to be rare in So Cal unless its an outlet catering to the PBR crowd.

How many wanna bet that that AB marketing wiz is still looking for a job................flipping burgers at Sambo's.

Purchasing power is the only power we have left.
Stop giving your money to Wall Street.
They use your retirement money and 401K to consolidate power and destroy you.

It's all part of the Agenda. Look past it.

"Might not be a good idea to have Osama Bin Laden as a spokesperson, might not be a good idea to have a KKK clansman as your spokesperson. Probably not a good idea to have Jeffrey Epstein as a spokesperson."
It's absurd to compare Mulvaney to those people.
"Most conservatives are fed up with the government pushing farther into our freedoms, rights, and ability to just live our lives."
What are you talking about? Conservatives want the government to force unwanted pregnancies.
I've always been a beer snob. I can't even remember the last time I had Bud Light. I don't give a shit if Mulvaney promotes it or not.

"Drinks Bud Light in a rainbow colored bottle every weekend at University & 5th in his favorite area of San Diego - HILLCREST !"
I'm pretending to be the gay friend to all the hot chicks there, but I'm actually just trying to get laid.
I can drink 24 Bud Lights and not get a buzz, unlike the other pussy who threw up from it.

Coors Light is so watered down, you might as well order a cup of water; it's free.

I might need to bring a twink looking guy like you along so I can befriend them.

I agree that the outrage over LGBT is asinine, but Bud Light has always tasted like piss. I'm more of a dark beer guy. Give me a 6 pack of a local IPA over those big boxes any day.
