There is usually one death at burning man every year. The one that happened this year had nothing to do with the rain or weather. On the ticket is it says chance of death or serious injury so it’s essentially like signing a waiver for every ticket holder. My friends out there are uncomfortable but totally fine. The only ones who are actually fucked are the dum dums trying to drive out when told to shelter in place and then getting their car stuck. The news is completely sensationalizing it.

Far be it from me to sensationalize.
When I was a kid such an event may have seemed attractive. I can't find any find any reason to do such a thing now that I am a middle-aged man.
There was another event this year that turned out to be a total mess. There was a scout jamboree in Korea with 40,000 scouts. It was too hot. There was no shade. It was also held on a mud flat. There were too many bugs. Toilet facilities overflowed. It made headlines around the world.

I have been in event and festival production for pretty much my entire life and have been to burningman 11 times. Not since the beginning (1986) but since 1997 it’s been one of most meticulously organized well thrown events in the world. Climate change is to blame for what is going on there right now. If they continue to throw this event going forward they will either have to do it earlier in the year or find a new location. If you are actually interested in learning more about burning man I highly recommend the documentary “SPARK - a burning man story”
What you are describing in Korea sounds more like a poorly ran event, which I have strong negative adherences about having been in the industry. Things like fyre fest, Astro-world, and Woodstock 99. Burningman is NOT that.

Lol, Buring Man attendees harping about climate change. Read where there were 2000 flights to burning man last year, many by hypocrite tech oligarchs in private planes. Isn't one of the main events buring a huge man effigy? (Shouldn't it be a burning person anyway to be more inclusive?) Prolly one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gases the whole summer. Not saying that they shouldn't have it, they just shouldn't be telling everyone else to go green while they are more guilty than most.
