Maybe not immediately, but soon enough everyone will be !
You won't be able to get parts, inventory will be depleted and prices will go up !
It could become a major cluster fuck if they can't settle it very soon !

Do you ever research your facts? It is a walk out of three plants, none in CA
|
|
^ Well, never mind.
|
|
Being Unions are typically democratic, are they getting what they voted for ?
They will even screw there own members over.
|
|
I am aware that it is at three plants, and none are in So Cal.
From what we have seen from other strikes, this may go on for month, and we will feel it in some way or other around the holidays.
|
|
Either we are very very very very very much danger. Or very very very very much… Safe.

I don’t think this will move the needle in CA given the damage Newsome and Biden have done to Gad prices, food prices, energy prices, interest rates etc but thanks for your concern. Send money not FEMA
|
|
Whatever happent to all those FEMA camps and Marshall (sic) Law?

Not sure if it's still the case or not, but at one point both GM & Ford were paying more per car in employee health insurance costs than steel for a given car.
Add into that other employee benefits, not to mention the wage, and well, that's not a situation that can be sustained forever when faced with less expensive imports.
Perhaps Ford & GM should follow the Hostess model where you had a union that had the full financials of corporate, yet forced the company into bankruptcy, thereby forcing liquidation.
Like Hostess, someone will purchase the assets & start anew - but with no union.
We will see.
Perhaps Biden will bail them out with our money.

afraid to look at the stock price,i am sure they plummet...
if you have stocks, i'd recommend to offload soonest.
they were offered 20% increase, they want 40% plus pension and other benefits.
just not gonna happen, keep in mind the prices have to compete with the imports.
maybe just buy robots instead.
strange how many labor issues we have had under the Biden administration.

strange how many labor issues we have had under the Biden administration.
Exactly. When unemployment is this phenomenally low workers have more leverage, more power, and less to lose. American ascendency in the twentieth century is hand in hand with the ascendancy of unions and American decline is hand in hand with the decline of? Take a guess.
Profits in the hands of investors does nothing for the economy compared to profits in the hands of workers. Closing the wealth gap was done once before after the Gilded Age and it can be done again by the same means. Unions and government trust busting.
|
|
^ major idiot. The company is owned by people who are also workers. Over 61% of Americans own stocks directly and even more indirectly through pensions etc.
The arguments the union is making is absurd. The veteran workers have extracted huge above market wages through decades of negotiation and now they are saying it's not fair the new workers make less for doing the same job. That would be true if blacks and women made less, but if new workers are doing the exact same job for less than half the older workers makes, it means the older workers are over paid
The easy fix is for overpaid workers to be "taxed" by the union so they can pay the new workers more. Just like higher earning Americans with demanding high paying jobs subsidize lower income workers with easier jobs through taxes.
The ultimate absurdity is the unions which voted for Biden asking for cost of living increases because inflation is so high. Fuck them Reap what you sow libtards!

|
^
What a moron!
Union % of the labor force has declined for 50 years to under 12%
If you eliminated public unions (which you should asap), it would be half that!
Workers don't make profits, you uneducated twit!
Profits made by business owners mostly get reinvested in some fashion to drive innovation and employment.
Jeebus, you are the stupidest commie left on the planet.
Why don't YOU move to the USSR and enjoy the fruits of your Marxian labor
Oh, shit........they went out of business 20 years ago.
|
|
Absofuckinglutely correct!
Workers have been in reverse since 2019, per the US Gov statistics
These poor dumb union fucks are just trying to play catch up on FJB inflation
A vote for FJB is a vote to drop it into reverse 4th gear

Proud to triple post on the HeyIJustDroveIntoADitch......
As FDR said in 1937, quote:
"All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters."

well so today i did offload my stocks in ford...
maybe i can buy them back in 3 months at half the cost, who knows.
what we do know is union bosses have absolutely zero business sense.
and they do not realize that but their action, good employment jobs are being removed from the US.
look at Yellow the trucking company, company went bancrupt, just how many people lost their jobs?
and yeah there is no union paying workers once the go BK
i believe in germany and france, the corporate board includes a union representative
this is done to connect the union with facts of reality so that the unions can have somewhat realistic approach to their pay and benefits.
|
|
Good luck to us all. Next 12 month could be harder.
|
|
another 5000 walking off the line today
sickening to see how quickly a company can be sent to ruins.
any do shorts / puts
|
|
The time to strike is now. Joe Biden is importing the Latinos from across the border to take all they jobs. Just gave 500k temporary status to work and you can bet they will be taking Americans jobs.
|
|
AND, in other news, Ford breaks out to new 12 month highs today, lol
Ford will lose $4.5 Billion on EV's but..............
Shhhhh, don't tell HeyHasn'tAClue.........he still thinks they're making money on those crap EV's
|
|
This is so awesome!
Strike spreads to 38 parts-distribution centers in 20 states, lol.
AND, FJB will be on the picket lines in Michigan, standing in solidarity with the losers.
Poor FJB and poor unions, signing their own death warrants as FJB transitions them to EV's and these idiots are willing accept that they'll lose 117,000 jobs in the transition.
"A gasoline-powered car has about 2,000 moving parts in its powertrains, whereas a Tesla has 17. That means electric vehicles require one-third fewer workers to assemble than conventional vehicles—and none of the workers who make engines or engine parts. As UAW research director Jennifer Kelly has explained, the “workers who are making engines and transmissions today” will see their jobs “eliminated when we make a transition to electric vehicles.”
"In total, the Biden administration’s electric-vehicle push will eliminate a projected 117,000 net auto-manufacturing jobs nationwide. Michigan and the industrial Midwest will be ground zero. Even if the Big Three automakers keep their market share and retool their existing plants, Michigan will still lose at least 25,000 auto-manufacturing jobs. Ohio and Indiana will lose 14,000 and 16,000 respectively."
Maybe they'll shake his hand and thank him when he gets to Detroit tomorrow!
You cannot make this shit up.
|
|
how did FJB handle the rail strike negotiations?
thats right, he gave them everything they asked for, and quickly before anyone started asking questions.
if everyone gets a 40% raise, well then a new F150 will increase 40% in cost
who can afford a $80-100K truck?
maybe the union workers ???
|
|
And the UAW will make the 3 auto makers non-competitive since Toyota, BMW, Hyundai, Nissan, Tesla, Volvo and Subaru, are still producing cars, trucks and SUVs in the United States, and their workers are not unionized.
Work 32 hours and get paid 40.....yeah, that works.
Reinitiate pensions....most government agencies are technically bankrupt due to pension liability.
|
|
^ unfortunately, the pols that control those agencies are bought and paid for by the unions
Which means the taxpayer is getting Adamsed
Look for 2 new Props from our friends in Suckramento
One will attempt to drop the current percentage required by Prop 13 to pass a tax increase
The second one is truly Machiavellian, not even gonna try to describe it but another Adamsing of the taxpayer.
They just can't get enough of your money, highest taxes of any state.
