I don’t know much about the guy. I thought he was some D-list celebrity who was in a couple of movies I never saw about twenty years ago. I think it happens the way you describe it (the accusations take years to surface) a lot. At least it does when the accused is somebody with some power. Look at Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein and and the rich dude who may or may not have hung himself in in a New York prison.

Most people in this country don’t care about justice anymore. It’s just politics now. If you like someone’s politics you will back them until your last breath. If you don’t like their politics you will attack them with all of your fury. Nobody cares about the facts when they feel safe in an echo chamber that reinforces their beliefs and never challenges them. It’s sad how far we have fallen.
Do any of you remember when people weren’t fooled into believing they had to hate anyone who disagreed with their political stance? Just because someone has a different idea of how to make things better it doesn’t mean they are your mortal enemy.
