Hope it happens so we get a big ass job shredding recession right into the teeth of the election.
FJB deserves what he gets.
Sure hope FDT dies soon though

government shuts down, nobody notices, life goes on.
Kinda takes the wind out of the argument for bigger more intrusive replete with higher taxes to support it & life is better when it's shut down.

Just not my EBT, k?

I do kind of notice when there are fewer police. And not just from the headlines. A couple of people at work have been robbed in the past year. It's pretty obvious that the police, when they do show up, have placed addressing theft at the low end of their priorities.
The Democrat solution? Sue the manufacturers for not making their products theftproof!

^"nobody"? Perhaps not you but certainly the 1.3 million active-duty U.S. military service members who will have to remain on the job without pay. How much buffer savings do you think they have? The National Labs, FDA. Most of more than 3.5 million federal employees will go without paychecks in a shutdown. Some will have to work without pay because of the nature of their jobs, like members of the military, law enforcement officers, air traffic controllers and TSA officers. They should get back pay once the shutdown ends but who knows how long they have to finance their daily lives (at the current high interest rates) for this pointless BS.
You can justifiably rail against an unsustainable deficit but this isn’t a serious attempt to address it and the people who will suffer are unworthy of your glib indifference.

Sherkahn knows that it’s time to blame Trump’s lemmings.
These psychos are causing chaos all on their own, and they feel justified for sending Americans financial well being down the shitter.
When the House far right is going to war with the Senate Republicans, you know you’re doing it wrong.

Half of the government jobs could be eliminated, and we would see NO decline in service.
There are so many bullshit layers of management and people who actually accomplish NOTHING during the day other than to occupy space.
Have you ever watched the people at the post office. They saunter around, taking their time to do anything.

Yeah I have always felt the same...what if government shut down and no one noticed?
Nick has a point on military and in the past both sides have worked together to find a fix for essential services. Every time this happens someone floats the idea that if they can't ass a budget, Congress shouldn't get paid. Never happens though.
For all the talk about expanding the supreme court and blowing up the electoral college, the biggest change we need in our democratic system is more oversight on congress. This partisan bullshit and insider trading and bogus impeachments and corrupt polls sitting on important committees has to stop.

“Half of the government jobs could be eliminated, and we would see NO decline in service.”
And there we go, another stupid statement from the ill-informed that demonstrates how little and how toxic ignorant dumbasses are to this country.
|
|
the only government dumb-asses still getting paid are the same ones not being able to balance a budget...
