At 5 to 6,000 a month I don't know how anyone can afford that. I think my Father holds the record for longest stay. Was 93 RIP.

You left out some important information, one of the caretakers in the home has been charged.

Once my Moms mental and physical condition deteriorated, I found a care home close to my house in Santa Barbara. I visited almost everyday and even though she had advanced dementia her face always lit up when I visited. She passed away earlier this year and I really think having family visit on consistent basis visit helps with the care, I talked with one of the staff and they said there were some patients they had seen their family in years. I feel for the family of these two women and I hope they come to peace on how this happened.

I had a grandmother with dementia. I would visit a couple of time a week until one day she said, "You know, I have grandchildren, but they never visit." After that I decided once every week was good enough.

Folks think that because they are busy that is an excuse not to visit.
Dementia is not there every minute and there are lucid times.
It really sucks when you know it's just around the corner for you.
That's the life we have and those two ladies got shortchanged.
They don't fry people anymore. But that person deserves it that committed that atrocity.
No one deserves to go out that way.

Horrible.
More families should take care of their elderly parents if they can (and if they don't require specialized care). In any event they should be careful they're not dumping them in some snakepit home.
At least the suspect is in jail and not turned loose like George Gas-Can in LA probably would have done. Sympathy to the victims' families.

One of my all time favorite shows is law and order, people try to get away with the most craziest things sometimes.

that care home was sited for problems several years ago. life w no parole is getting off to easy.
