Trump's attorneys didn't ask for a jury trial, probably since a jury could hit him harder than a judge would. He knows when to suck up if it's in his best interest.

yep that's it. stop it
he made the comments cuz the judge abided by the statute of limitations on the case when originally went against it.
anything that comes out of this stupid thing is going to appeal anyway...YES, there will be those that come in within 10seconds and say they already got smacked down in appeals once on this case
250m fine probably not happening
has the GLEE left the body yet?

Not even watching but since I'm not an atty., was curious.
My understanding of a summary judgement is that it's done because the judge considers the facts to be known, therefore no trial necessary to determine facts.
But, a summary judgement is not subject to appeal only because it's not "final".
Once it's "final", then it becomes subject to appeal.
Never seen a case that is not subject to appeal, assuming the Appeals Court is willing to hear it.
Any attorneys out there who can shed light on this for State of NY???

"But, a summary judgement is not subject to appeal only because it's not "final".

I'm not an attorney but you can bet NY would be busy trying to change the law so that once the summary judgement is final it cant be appealed if your name is Trump.
This is what they did with the Jean Carroll defamation case. They rewrote existing law to relax the statute...
Just so they could go after Trump.

companies leaving NY in droves already...imagine it to pick up if something like this sticks past the appeals process

nice lil summary of what it's all about(1min with megyn)...should really scare the shit out of people
it's fucking crazy

It's insane...
This is nothing close to a 'Democracy' when the legal system wields this kind of radicalized power and all logic and common sense is thrown out the window.

FDT is a blight on the body politic but it could be fairly argued that Letitia James has committed an abuse of prosecutorial discretion. She ran as a partisan Dem specifically stating that she would target one person, if elected.
Georgia and Jan. 6th are more reasonable charges but NY is a shit show. Won't be long before some State or Local partisan Rep decides to charge a hated Dem for something.
"The night she won the AG’s race in November 2018, she proclaimed: “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings.” This is an abuse of prosecutorial power, targeting a person and then hunting for something to charge him with." Letitia James
One example of his RE dealings: Despite four appraisals pegging his Seven Springs estate at $30 million or less, Mr. Trump claimed it was worth $261 million.
Question is, if they had appraisals, why would they lend more than the property was worth......or did they, in fact, even do this? If they took his word and lent him $180m (50% LTV), then they fucked up and that's on them........but if they ignored him and lent him $15m, regardless of his puffery........then where did the harm occur?
Don't think I've ever met a Homeowner who didn't think his property was worth more than the independent appraiser....especially since the 2008 meltdown. Doesn't really matter what they think, does it?
Anyway, you'll see more of this as State and Local DA's decide that some Presi is "not their Presi", so let's find a crime to charge 'em with.
This one is weak sauce and looks retaliatory, whereas the other cases elsewhere look have more gravitas. IMHO

at about 5:20 on...the state AG pre-election promises...they do great lil montages
good looking judge smiling for the cameras in the clip
just crazy shit

"but it could be fairly argued that Letitia James has committed an abuse of prosecutorial discretion."
Understatement of the decade.
There is ZERO logic in what's going on here.
It is 100% bloodied water shark attack and the Dems have their ears pinned back. 110 mph into the brick wall.

think the very first STAR witness didn't go over well...he got smacked down by the judge
judge also said he not only rules on cases by law, but also emotion this GAY shit has to stop at some point.

Jackass not everything is about your lord and master. That is just what you think because you are weak and you are stupid.
The Adult Survivors Act, modeled after the Child Victims Act, was passed to give traumatized adults who were left out by the latter act. Nobody was remotely thinking about the orangedick for either.

Why does anything that Trump does or say surprise anyone?
He has always said stupid and controversial things. If you dig a little bit, you'll see that much of what he does is right out of Roy Cohn's playbook. Cohn makes Trump look like a saint.

they say it's done...so bring on the show
clip of the judge...looks a little LESS crazy here in this.

Judge Engoron issues order placing Trump's business assets under monitor
ny ATTY said they will probably auction off the properties

Now that is a "holy shit" moment. I would have thought that they would give them a certain amount of time to liquidate them by themselves.

not the type of thing we want in the hands of a few people...this type of power
BUT sure some are going to be cheering it with glee

Pretty high price to pay for being a President
Of course, the whole thing is pretty illegal but they're hell bent on vengeance so legalities don't mean much.
Found out that the lenders had received FDT's personal valuations, then proceeded to use their own independent valuations to make the loans. Which is why they testified that there's no damages that would cause the case to be brought in the first place.
As Doc Holiday said, "It's not revenge, it's a reckoning"

PREV thread where started with couldn't have been better for trump...was kinda from the mindset that this court is making BIG/damning decisions using faulty knowledge.
same judge on record calling TRUMP a bad guy-
A Manhattan judge Thursday called Donald Trump “just a bad guy” in a scathing rebuke to a lawyer arguing that the former president was being unfairly singled out for investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
At the end of the hearing, state Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump — along with his daughter Ivanka Trump and son Donald Trump Jr. — to comply with subpoenas and testify under oath in a civil investigation launched by James into suspicious Trump Organization business practices.
so those are all some things to help on appeal...appeal in NY? not sure that is going to be that much better, but that's where shit might really hit the fan
now of course we will get those here saying trump is calling them bad names also...are they equal?
