Even if they get swept the point would be that the Dodgers consistently make the PO's. So there's a WAY bigger chance for the WS.

Ohtani is damaged goods. Pre injury I was all in for dude. Now I'm 50/50. He's going to want to pitch and that doesn't bode well for his longevity. Toss in he's getting at least 10 years guaranteed and I could see $500 million really hurting come year 6-7

Mainly went to see other AL stars like Griffey Jr and Bo Jackson. Truly can't stand Arte Moreno and hi renaming the team the LA Angels when you're clearly an OC team. I was just pointing out that the 6 billion dollars literally had nothing to do with the Hamas attack. One it was Iranian money to begin with so calling it a "ransom" is wrong. Two it's being held in a Quatari bank with full US oversight on how it's spent, only for humanitarian aid. And three zero dollars have been spent so far. This Hamas attack most likely took at least a year, if not multiple years, to plan and carry out. The money was just unfrozen less than two months ago so it played no role in the attack. If you read Twitter you'll find that basically every republican POTUS candidate, as well as senators and congressmen have all tweeted that Biden is somehow responsible for unfreezing the money. That's clearly false. It annoys me to read people who know better to use a tragedy to score political points. Especially ones that have actually been in those roles in the past that would have placed them in the decision making authority so you know that they KNOW what they're saying is false.

I hate Dave Roberts. Like I would trade our 2020 title just so he would have been fired lol. We're a very solid club, 90% of that I attribute to Friedman, our minor league development in raising up our draft picks, and the other Dodgers coaches. Specifically Mark Prior, he's one hell of a pitching coach. I wish Roberts would have been shit canned like 6-7 years ago. Really should have been gone when Maddon became available from the Rays. I think he wound up with you guys right?

Two years ago I went with Pantone294 to watch a two game series against the Astros. Think it was the first time we faced them since they cheated us in the world series. Pantone294 is a Dodgers fan club that hosts like 8-10 road trip takeovers. Like they buy 3,000-4,000 seats all in the same section. I go Everytime they do the San Diego takeover and have been to the Diamondbacks and the Astros. We killed them in game one and lost game two. They're always fun events. They host an open bar at some hotel near the stadium like 3-4 hours before the game starts then everyone walks to the stadium together. In Houston the cops actually tried to stop us because there was like 3,000 dodgerfans all walking in the middle of the street chanting "Lets Go Dodgers". We're all from LA so pretty much everyone either ignored the cops in their cars ortold them to get bent lol

As a Dodgers lifelong fan, since 1979 anyways, I'm pretty used to disappointment. We won like 113 games last year and flamed out in the first round.andto the padres at that. This current ownership group has given Friedman anything he could ask for but they just can't seem to put it together in the playoffs. I blame Roberts for most of our failures as he's a shitty in game strategist. The dodgers remind me of the 90's braves with Glavime, Maddux, and Smoltz. They won their division like 13 times in a row I think but only won oneWS title. We've won 10 of the last 11 NL West titles with only one ring to show for it. Personally I liked the 80's Dodgers teams even tho they only won 2 titles, 81 and 88. Those 80's teams had more heart and character imo

Dodgers have a hell of a minor league development system. Friedman is a genius at knowing when to buy and pay premium for certain players and when to cut bait. When I used to live in Claremont I would regularly go to Rancho Cucamonga Quakes GameStop check out Dodgers players who were making rehab starts. Nice little stadium, got to know a few of the regular minor league quakes from going to the Applebee's. Minor leaguers don't get paid shit, I ended up picking up several bar tabs lol

Let's face it, once Urias blew up the Dodgers had zero front-line pitchers for the post season.
No one to hand the ball to when you HAD to win. No Koufax. No Valenzuela. No Hershiser or Sutton.
How many teams could win missing 4 of their top 5 pitchers (with #5 hurting)? Smoke and mirrors for the regular season but these are the playoffs.
Yeah, their hitting sucked but the first inning blowout by Kershaw had the feeling of Gibson's home run. The series was over.
Freidman will get a front line pitcher by trade and I doubt it's Ohtani. As the Brooklyn Bums would say, wait 'til next year!

Completely agree on Urias. Sad because he was one of my favorite Dodgers, original draft pick, came up in our system and looked ready to conquer the world after his WS heroics. It's interesting to me that the team hasn't shut down all possibilities that he could actually be back next season. I'm done with him as far as wanting him as a Dodger. Miller, Pepiot, Sheehan are all hopefully going to take a step forward after this trial by playoff fire and we should have the makings of a very solid rotation. I think Friedman will have to get two frontline starters, one to replace Julio and I think Kershaw retires this year. We have the farm system to g3t two bonafide aces. Just hope they take a pass on Shohei unless he's willing to sign a 5-6 year deal

Urias would make sense on the angels, he should be relatively cheap since he apparently can't keep his hands from beating women. And he's a hugely popular athlete in SoCal being that he's a world series winner and Mexican. As far as Kershaw he's on record as saying the only other team in the MLB he'll play for is his hometown Rangers. I just feel like this is his last season. He hasn't had a fully healthy season in like 7 years. He's an absolute freak when it comes to his preparation. I was at a Sunday day game a couple of summers ago and it was like 108-109 degrees on the field. Literally both teams didn't take batting practice or otherwise leave their dugouts but Kershaw was out on the field for his 45 minute pre game workout. I must have drank 15 beers that game trying to cool off. Kershaw was like no biggie, I'll workout then pitch 7+ innings lol

Kershaw when healthy is a potential Cy Young winner every year. Problem is he fucked his back up 7 years ago and has never fully recovered to be able to pitch an entire season. You just expect him to miss at least 6-10 weeks per season. This year it was a mysterious shoulder "fatigue". He was actually a leading Cy Young candidate to that point with barely over a 2 era and pitched like 10 out of 11 or 12 starts going at least 7 innings. He got hurt right before the all star break and what was initially supposed to be missing one or two scheduled starts ended up lasting two months. He's still been rock solid but can only realistically go 5 innings a start. His entire career he's been extremely hit or miss in the playoffs. I blame mattingly for his horrific play calling against the Cardinals when he pinch ran Dee Gordon and pulled Adrian Gonzalez, at least I think it was Gonzalez it's been over ten years lol in the 9th. And then like a complete idiot he didn't send Gordon to at least try for the steal. We ended up in like a 12-13 innings and couldn't get any offense going. I think Machado was on that team and he got hurt so the dodgers only big bats were unavailable. Fucking mattingly, remove your stud big bat for a pinch runner then don't even bother sending him. Smdh...
Anyways Kershaw has another couple of seasons left in that left arm but he seems to me to be tired of always spending time on the DL. And he's a perfectionist so he doesn't half step anything, including his pre game routine. His little ones are school age now. He's got more money than he could spend or his hijos hijos could spend so I could see him calling it quits after another first round disappointment
