Iran is definitely providing financial and logistical support to Hamas. It's been reported they helped plan the attack and gave the green light last week. I've heard that Iran is definitely not interested in Egypt and Israel moving forward with their normalized relations which have been steadily progressing so that could play a key role as to why now. But Iran truly from the bottom of their souls hate Israel so funding Hamas is just something that comes natural to them. Lot of talk that Bibi Netanyahu screwed the pooch by puking all the IDF from the front lines and fell asleep at the wheel re: border security. Also it's been confirmed that Egypt sent a warning to Israel about ten days ago that something big was imminent and coming from Hamas but they were ignored. Apparently Bibi is actually a supporter of Hamas as they feed into his strong man image, able to keep Israel safe from big bad Hamas. Clearly that reputation is up in smoke. It'll be interesting to see if he survives this epic intelligence failure.
Maybe after this over, Israel should rethink how they oppress Palestinians.
