Well most pro's AREN'T the sharpest tools in the tool box.
Regardless of what sport they play they've been pampered and treated as though they are special since their talent first showed itself.
High school coaches ride their star players to get to the next level & college coaches point to them to show what great coaches they are, for recruitment and to justify their exorbitant salaries.
When I was in high school we had a guy who threw BB's and his curve was ungodly. So what'd the coach do? He attempted to pitch him every 3rd game.
If it wasn't for Keith's dad he would have, but Mr. Mundee told the coach in no uncertain terms that he'd pull him off the team if pitched more then every 6th and that ended it.
I actually think that's one of the reasons so many pitchers develop arm problems now a days - high school coaches over work their star pitchers and the kid's bodies can't take the abuse so they develop arm problems later.
At every level they were never held to the standard of Student but only of athlete so most never attempted to develop their critical thinking ability. At the college level it's even worse although it's worse now then it was in the 50's, 60's & 70's.
There are exceptions of course but it's more the rule then anything else.
Unfortunately Bauer's not one of the exceptions. And because of the way they've developed they're big targets for scams.
Like this chick said she's done it before.
