Lastly, the Israeli war is going to be a problem for the U.S. because a lot of Palestinians are going to die. Probably tens of thousands. It will be a humanitarian disaster and sentiment will turn on Israel, which will then spread to the U.S. because of our support of Israel.
Israel is absolutely justified in defending itself, especially because of how brutal the attack was a week ago, but the situation is complicated. Hamas knew what they were doing would lead to Israel seeking retribution and Hamas, knowing that, is intentionally using Palestinians as martyrs. All of this likely resulted from the ties Israel has made with Arab states over the past few years (including recent talks with Saudi Arabia). Israel has benefited from the influx of funds from Arab states, but the Palestinians have not. To complicate things further, Palestinians are not treated well by the Israeli government and settlers keep encroaching upon Palestinian territory. The entire situation is a mess.

The Feds have NO clue how many get thru.
What they track is "encounters" and in the last two years thru Sept 2023, that total is about 5.5 million..........let's call it 6 mil for last 2 years extrapolating thru Dec 2023. Who knows how many of those got thru? Who knows how many got thru that were never "encountered"?
8 mil is a very high estimate but not absurd.
On the record, I'm for much much higher "legal" immigration.......it's a shame we don't allow more into the country that are willing to do the work. As to illegal, you don't actually have a country unless you control your borders. The estimates I've heard lately are 90% illegals are "economic" not "political, racial or religious persecution". We have no policy that allows for economic immigration. We do have a skills based HB-1 immigration program....another Federal mess. AND, if you can invest $500,000 into the US economy, you can buy citizenship, as I recall.

I think you are being optimistic using a number like .05%. In 1980 we had the Mariel boat lift that resulted in 125,000 Cuban coming to the United States. Out of that number Castro agreed to accept 3000 of them back. In addition to that number after 2 years of research the U.S. government identified 2 - 3% of the remaining group that would never be fit for citizenship. Estimates Put the total number of criminals at between 16 - 20,000. Ultimately the Marielitos took over crime in Miami and much of Florida from the Colombians after a bloody war. One of the Marielitos ended up being the founding member of the largest Hispanic street gang in New York.
If we do have a terrorist attack in this country I would not to surprised to see multiple attacks at the same time. I would not even be surprised to see an atomic bomb. I would not worry about an atomic bomb from any of the white supremacist groups such as the KKK because I don't think most of them have the knowledge to construct one. They mostly max out with fertilizer bombs.

I think the underlying problem is that one party is losing power and the ability to get that power back because their numbers are dwindling because they’ve lost touch with what the majority wants in this country. It’s been theorized that the most dangerous political party is one that is losing power because, in their desperation, they’ll do crazy shit. Like act against our Constitution or attempt to overthrow our government. This needs to be repeated over and over again.
Realistically, terrorist attacks are committed with conventional weapons, such as semiautomatic rifles, or a van full of fertilizer.
No one talks about a nuclear bomb being used because I suspect it’s difficult to covertly get one into this country undetected. Nuclear material leaves traces that can be followed and it’s hard to come by.
Realistically, terrorists will not be coming here illegally. If they are dangerous, they are likely well funded. They’ll be flying into this country rather than crossing a border, or they may be Americans who have been indoctrinated and willing to sacrifice themselves for their cause.

What did I say? I said that the Constitution guarantees our right to "peaceably assemble and petition our government for a redress of grievances." Do I support mob mentality? No I don't, not at the Capitol, or at a police station or a Federal Courthouse in the Pacific Northwest (BLM).
